Last night my laptop has started playing up - every action is taking an eternity and it keeps saying not responding to everything. I have used the 5 second hold the off button down to close it down but this morning its doing the same thing - any help would be appreciated.

does it do it in safe mode? (keep pressing f8 as it boots up and select safe mode) You will be limited in what you can do but if it works ok then it's probably a software problem.

I have done that and I thinks its a file I used yesterday - I downloaded a cd and ripped the tunes to wav - just tried to open it again and it locked. I am going to delete it and see if that makes a difference. Also how do I restart the computer not in safe mode

Reboot it and it will boot up normally.

Have you tried to delete it while in safe mode? I am guessing it loads something to do with that program on startup which is why it won't delete.

Can you advise me on how to slow down the mouse pad on the laptop - it appears very sensitive and would like to slow it up!

Start menu - control panel - mouse. in there one of the tabs should enable you to set the pointer speed slower.
