I am looking for work as a care assistant or similar, preferably part time, and I have 3 kids, age 13, 11 and 9, so it would need to fit in with them, so possibly need to be night shifts.
I have only moved to Sheffield 2 weeks ago, so as well as needing a job for the money aspect I am also hoping to make some friends. (I live in S8 area, and dont really want to have to travel miles to work, although I dont want to sound too picky about it lol)
I have Googled 'jobs in Sheffield' and all similar ways of searching for this, so I guess I may have emailed or called most of the places in Sheffield that have jobs like this on offer, but if anyone has any other ideas I would be really grateful.

Send your CV and covering letter to care homes near your house, you might even get some that are within walking distance.

That's ok. That's how i used to get all my jobs when i worked in old people's homes. Only ever worked at one's i could walk to - bus fares ate up to much of my earnings!
