We have both just moved to Sheffield, and we are looking for things to do in the area.
We'd appreciate any suggestions you guys can give us! We have tried going to a beginners salsa class, at the quater, WHICH WAS NOT GOOD, so I wouldn't really recommend it! But we would like to go to some form of beginners dance class along those sorts of lines. Something we could go to every week is really good, we need to get out of the house!!!
All suggestions are very appreciated.
Thanks
Mark and Kim
If you're into Salsa, I've heard that Tuesdays at the Forum are good. And Cubana do salsa classes too. The Showroom do classes if you're into films, and you could try Sheffield College and the WEA who all run classes in the area.
How about BURLESQUE? (Unfortunately, Ladies only, Mark, however Kim would get to meet new friends!)
Please see my website for further details ... plus a new venue in Sheffield to be added this month!
Failing that - try CITY LIMITS, as they have a range of Dance-style activities, etc. or look in THE STAR for ideas in the "What`s On" Section.

Hi there Mark and Kim,
Welcome to Sheffield. Sheffield is a really friendly town/city and I am sure it won't be too long before you find what you love doing.
In addition to the Salsa classes you may want to meet friends through a yoga class. I run some very friendly, warm and chilled out yoga classes in S7 and S11 areas. Sunday, Clifford School, 108 Psalter Lane, S11 and Monday, St Peter's Community Hall, Woodstock Rd, S7. Both classes are from 6 - 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to the classes! I develop the lesson plans so that everyone gets what they need from the class.
To find out more visit my website: www.yoganaturesheffield.org.uk or phone me 07816 540 261 or email me jo@yoganaturesheffield.org.uk.
Or you may want to come to the Sharrow Lantern Carnival on Saturday 19th April. It is a beautiful Carnival celebrating light and peace. To find out more visist www.creativeaction.net.
Wishing you all the best,
Jo
The new cycle of of novice, Level 1 and Level 2 Salsa classes are due to commence Monday 12th May if you're interested.
See our website for further details.

The ski village is always a laugh with a group of people, not sure on prices. Also the Edge climbing centre. Failing that you havnt experienced Sheffield without a traumatic day at Meadowhall shopping centre ;)

Cheers for all the ideas people. Think we'll be trying out a few things on this list sometime.
Any more ideas would be very much welcome though.
Gutted about being excluded from the burlesque *gets on his sexism high horse*
