Saw Thunder at Xmas so a bit too soon to see them again, even though they are great live!! From all accounts the Whitesnake show is fantastic!! They are touring OZ right now. The new album is well worth the wait!! The best thing they have done since 1987, maybe better!! Just hope the new Def Leppard CD is as good as they say! Roll on JUNE!!!

Fantastic and at the city hall too.

A real band prepared to play proper venues instead of awful arena gigs!

Problem is even though I love Thunder, I dont think they could fill an arena. I dont think they would have been able to back in the days of "Back street symphony" either. But smaller venues are better for seeing a band like them. Great night out!!! Saying that Tara's Secret have trouble filling a phone box some nights!!!LOL

Thunder were brilliant! Backstreet Symphony and all that...

Has anyone heard of an American band called Tyketto? They were ace too! Forever Young is a classic!

I'm more into trance but still love the odd bit of rock...

Tyketto are one of the most underrated bands of all time. People only ever talk about "Forever Young", which is a song I hever tire of hearing, but my personal favourite is "Sail Away", the last track on the first album.

Now I'll just wait for Classic Rock to come along and wind me up ........

i like the arena, but its not as good as the city hall... gigs are better at the hall, feels more like "Gig for the fans" than a false performance put on for the money??:suspect:

Tyketto are a great band, Danny Vaughan is a really nice down to earth guy. Who for some reason now lives in Ireland!!! He tours on his own and with Tyketto all the time. He is doing some Xmas shows this year. I cant wait!!! (maybe cos we are supporting him!!!)

I think it is west midlands way!!! If he is a fan then he will already have 28th June booked in his diary. Taras Secret play the Moorfoot tavern. First gig in over a year!! 2 hours, no breaks, new songs, classic covers. If you have never seen us live then come along!!! Oh and we have a new line up!!! :D

When I'm DJing rock, nobody ever asks me for anything other than 'Forever Young'. 'Sail Away' - is that the last track on side 1 or side 2? Does it skip?

I'd love to see Thunder again. I saw them last year having not seen them for a while, I'd forgotten how good they are live.

Typical we are going to see Journey at Harewood House that night:mad:

Will you be doing the Moorfoot later in the year?

Last track, side 2 of the vinyl, as you well know!

Thanks for not winding me up too much (seeing as the last few times Danny Vaughn has been here I didn't see him/them)

OK. So I'm walking through a deserted Chesterfield town center a couple of Sundays ago, and I'm thinking to myself that I should get my Thunder tickets for this November.

As I'm thinking this, I look up to see Chris Childs and Danny Vaughn disappearing into Boots.
Thinking I was seeing things, I followed them in to make sure and found I was right. Talk about a surreal experience!

It turns out that they both play in an Eagles tribute band ( The Illegal Eagles (http://www.illegaleagles.com/) ) and were playing at the winding wheel that night.

Me and the Hubby have seen Thunder at both the City hall and for the xmas gig in Nottingham for the last couple of years, got to say last year, I felt there Sheffield gig lacked their usual sparkle, so we are only doing the xmas gig this year.

P.S I'd hardly call them "Heavy" Rock, but maybe thats a personal thing?

Me and Hubby went to see Magnum at the Carling Academy last night, it was a great night, my ears are still ringing:roll:

It would be good to see Thunder there too, as I always feel that Rock City and the Acadmey have the right kind of "feel" for Thunders music.

Cheers

I know this is a bit late but I think the show you're thinking of last year was Journey at the City Hall!
