posted a couple of weeks ago about my boxer and lots told me to buy a cage that it was not to late as he was 5 months old. He is now 6 months and i bought one today so do i do anything different with him being older? or go about it the same? how do you think he will take to it? how long to leave him at start etc any advice taken on, i have read my two boxer books but they mainly focus on young pups so experianced advise would be great and to note he is clean when im around just when im out or upstairs he leaves me a nice mess he has weed on his bed loads so im not greatly optimistic but hey

put him in it when u leave the room and let him out when u return putting him straight outside and saying go wee (or whatever u say) he will soon get the hang of it it takes time but dogs will rarely wee where they sleep

My basset loves his cage, I leave it open all day and he often sneeks off for a quick nap in it! Before I got the cage he often made a mess (wee) in the night, but now he's fine. I think some people are put off by the word 'cage' thinking it's cruel but mine loves his.
Our Shadow (RIP) loved taking things into his cage(normally stolen things!!!!!!!!), he had to go into it because he was so destructive. I left the door open too during the day and if he wanted a nap thats where he went, its like their own safe space.
