View Full Version : Driving Mum & Dad Mad programme
Has anyone seen it on t.v? That frightening blonde woman who just swears all the time. Living with her I'm surprised her husband isn't carted off drooling, I feel sorry for her little boy who is just behaving the way he sees her behaving! It makes me think I'm not such a bad mum when I see these programmes. We all loose our rag at times with our kids but they are the kids - we are supposed to be the adults! As the saying goes - you reap what you sow.
designbunny 17-03-2005, 20:18 Yeah i watched this last week, i found it interesting, why would anyone go on this programme!
The one where the mum took her little boy shopping & had a right hissy fit before even going in the shop + made him have 'time out' in the car. She stood crying at the side of the car, getting really stroppy with him. She was the same one who put her son to bed wailing & then left him there because 'she'd had enough", & walked off.
whether this was the right way to go about it or not, i definately wouldn't go on TV!
That womans child actually suffers from A.D.D (Attention Defisit Disorder - Ive probably spelt that wrong) so even though her constant crying gets on your nerves I do have sympathy for her because she is a single mum where as the others do have partners to share the load.
Bed time seems a big issue with all the kids. From day one I put all my kids to bed with no night light and the door shut, definately no telly - bed time is for sleep. What they never had they never miss.
FairyNormal 17-03-2005, 22:32 I have watched this programme from day one half hoping for a few pointers on managing my sons behaviour. All the things they suggest (time out, star charts, sanctions etc) I have tried for the last few years with little or no effect. The woman who cries a lot has my sympathy. Having a child with neuro problems/behavioural/learning difficulties is wearing, emotionally exhausting and physically tiring. Sometimes, no matter what you try, it just doesn't work and eventually we all snap. Doing it all on your own with little or no support is doubly as hard ....... believe me, I know!
The vile woman with the 'interesting' taste in clothing and mouth like a sewer, now she is a different matter altogether. The poor hubby has tried really hard to stick to the rules but she just sees it as a bit of a laugh. She probably aspires to become the next Lizzy Bardsley!
Interesting programme though.
SteveWilson 09-08-2006, 14:18 The program is worth watching just for that woman on it from leeds!
her accent is maybe the roughest i have ever heard! I just watch it to listen to her!!!!!!
I think more people should too!!!!

Is this a real illness, or just one made up by doctors? To cover up the fact that kids can be naughty, largely due to bad upbringing.
But to keep the parents happy; they give it some nice name like A.D.D. and give them a bucket full of pills to take just to shut them up. (The parents not the kids); this absolves the parents of any responsibility towards disciplining their child.
If you check out some of the websites about A.D.D., the bits that say how to spot if yours have it, are quite comical; they would cover 100% of the children I know, and they don’t have it.
A.D.D. = BAD PARENTING; what do you think?
Yeah it is kind of strange that all these disorders have come about recently, all i remember from being a kid was my brother being "hyperactive".
Harleykim 09-08-2006, 18:15 I was disgusted at the woman with the short blonde hair, her husband was reding the little girl a book, and the wife shouted at him to shut up, because her Eastenders was on!! What a freak, I feel sorry for her children.
That woman (if that's what you can call her) with the deep voice and silly hair also got me going, she was just swearing and making no effort what so ever with her boys. No wonder they act like they do, she thought it was funny, she seems like a child herself.
seriessix 09-08-2006, 18:19 The sure fire cure for A.D.D. is paying attention.

Isn't it A.D.H.D? We are in the UK...I think A.D.D is the "American" term.
Anyway, I think the whole A.D.H.D is a load of blah..........
seriessix 09-08-2006, 18:33 They use ADHD in the US too. I think ADD mutated into ADHD a while ago - so I'm just old school.
