Years ago there was a little girl in my Reception class with a gerbil called Amy Poppy-Nibbles, who she had named herself. I thought it was the best ever name for a pet, and I wondered whether anyone had any funny/original pets' names that their child had come up with, and actually used.
My daughter called her goldfish Tuggy and Foody when she was two years old, and a friend's three year old daughter had a hamster called Toogie!

my kids had a hamster they named Buzz Lightyear. The kittens we kept, i foolishly allowed the kids to name them, and they became Bob & Kevin :roll:

I love amy poppy nibbles ......... pure class. My son named his rabbit (many moons ago) ... he called him Bob, my daughters named her hamster princess angelina.

my son named his snake, bob girl snake (hes a boy) hence my name.

Had a friend whos horse was called Sovereign - cos of his colour. Her brother couldn't say Sovereign and called him Soggy. THe name has stuck. ;D Just as well cos thats his nature. :)

My son named our Jack Russell, shes called Luna after the moon in Bear in the Big Blue House, he was only 2 at the time bless him and he wouldn't let us name her anything else. He'd wanted to name his gecko Luna but OH said no (they're Jordan and Peter now :hihi:)

When i was younger i named my rabbit 'Micheal Owen' :hihi: started off as a joke and then stuck, he was gorgeous!

We also have a 'Harvey' too, he's my bearded dragon and i didn't realise the connection to Jordan and Peter until my sister told me :hihi: We just need a Junior and Princess-thingy-me-bob now lol!!

We used to have a goldfish called 'goggle eyes' named by my son who was 5 at the time. I remember my friend telling me once that he had a poodle named 'noodle head' his younger brother had picked the name. LOL poor dog :hihi:

I remember years ago when I was at school a boy in my class called his ferret kitkat and his younger brother thought that because the first ferret was called this he had to name his after a chocolate biscuit, so the second ferret became mint chocolate viscount!

It's not just kids though, me n my boyfriend named our first 2 fish flossy possy and baballoula unfortunately though they died after 2 days!

Oooh when I was a kid I came up with some good names.

I had a rabbit called Rodger, then got more and called them Dodger, Bodger, and guinea pigs Codger and Splodger who was called Todger for a while until my brother told me what it meant so I changed it!

I had hamsters Goldie (X4) then Andre Agassi, then Hamlet.

when i was a kid i got a fish from the fair & called it thunderbee, my favourite programme at the time was thundercats & my mum & dad thought that thats what i was trying to call the fish. it died so the next one was called thunderbee 2 & the one after that thunderbee 3.

my sister named our dog spook after the cat in a childrens book about a witch.

I've got a cat called bob. I've had 3 other cats - Sam, colin an billy. as you can see I don't go for the usual cat names.

Out of the many pets we`ve had these were named by kids.
We used to have 2 rabbits, Thumper and Bumper(could never tell em apart, a cat called Fluff and one called Terence, a gsd called Cloud, and a rabbit called Gimli.
