Hi,

My fiance and I are getting married on 6th June 2009, and we've been getting some quotes for our reception and I was just wondering what an average price for a reception like ours is. We're having a church wedding and then we would like a 3 course wedding breakfast for approximately 50 people, then an evening buffet with a disco/entertainment. We've had quotes ranging from £5000 (which we thought was really expensive) to £2000.

Thanks!

Well going from the prices we're about to pay you're looking at around £30 a head for the daytime food and £12 per head for the evening buffet. Disco about £180 and then theres the hire of the action room as well. Sorry to say but its not cheap!

Thanks everyone, I know its not cheap but having no other prices to compare against its very difficult to know if what we've been offered is a good deal or not. We're actually getting married down near Peterborough (because thats where I come from originally) so the prices will be a little higher than up here, but I have a good idea now of whats a reasonable price :D
