View Full Version : Do you like Chilli? What's your favourite?
waldershelf 01-04-2008, 07:02 I love Chilli in all its forms and one of the things I like to do is to try the different types of Chilli sauce when I see them in shops. We always have Encona in the cupboard but there are lots of others to try, anyone got a recommendation? I've just bought one called "Mama Africas, PiriPiri Zulu sauce" dynamite stuff.

:gag: yuk, far too strong, taxman! :gag:
I make my own veggie-chili/sauce, and I like it to be quite mild, so that you get the flavours of the spices, but aren't overwhelmed by them.
Enough is plenty in my book.
have you tried reggie reggie sauce? its got a real good kick to it!
Don_Kiddick 01-04-2008, 11:01 Chilli is very handy when you are going on holiday & leaving someone with your keys to turn lights on/off & open/shut curtains.
If you are even slightly curious as to wether they may rummage through your drawers, rub a fresh chilli all over the draw handles & door knobs you don't want them to look in.
It won't stop them but they'll have a very nasty surprise next time they go to the toilet or rub their eyes
*Wallace* 01-04-2008, 11:36 But they may think it's the fumes from yer undies drawer !!!!

I remember my mum stopped our dog from stealing food from the worktops by leaving a milky way stuffed with a chilli on the side and going out, harsh I know but it certainly worked!
I like all chillies, except jalapeņos as they give me the hiccups, I don't know why
this may sound really smug but I grow my own and make my own chilli sauces etc, but if I had to pick a sauce it would be the Habanero tabasco sauce. I grow habaneros, jalapeno and normal (not sure the name) ones. I'm going to have a go at the larger sweet ones which are great stuffed with cheese and fried.

no more new Chilli sauces. They've got to be fresh.
sheffchillis 11-04-2008, 22:43 If you love Chillies i've got loads of varieties, if you fancy growing your own Piri Piri plant they're on thier way to the sheffield chillies website. I'm not allowed to post my url so just google sheffield chillies.
At the moment i've got Scotch Bonnet plants and Peach Habanero plants ready to go however new varieties are on the way very shortly.
Soon you'll be able to get recipies to try with them, Chilli Sauces and Chilli chocolate! Have you ever tried chilli ice cream?
This site is still under construction but there's loads of info on there already.
