Armstrong is still trying to untangle his legs from the last time.
I wonder who you'll blame this time?

How many months have these tickets been on sale now ? Its got to be the only derby in England not played to a sell out more often than not . Very sad for both clubs .

They have been on sale for a week or so? after the first game got called off they stopped selling tickets until a couple of weeks before the re-arranged fixture.

and i think you will see that the blades sell out the derbys - its just wednesday who can't sell out there ground anymore for a game- yes it is sad.

Not dead impressed about United giving Owls just the bottom tier. It's only because of the safety aspect really. Very easy for home fans to chuck things over the balcony at away fans, especially if the away fans start winning. :suspect:

Im sure the coppers will be well aware of the possibilities that this could happen.

I think united just want to make sure that its sold out really as were not really sure that you guys could anymore.

So it's nothing to do with the fact that our ground has nearly 10,000 more seats then? Derrrr.

Selling out this game merely proves that you have more fans than us who just come to watch the opposition. Here to see the Wednesday, you're only here to see the Wednesday!

Yes your ground holds 10,000 more and we took over 6,000.

nealy 10,000 more!! your having a laugh pal, you aint even got 7000 more than the blades.

As for fans coming to watch wednesday, i think you should look at the average attendances for each club then you will see that we average a hell of alot more ;)

26-29k? Are you quite sure about that or are you just inventing numbers again?

A quick look at your website confirms that you've only topped 26k 3 times in your last 15 home games, which can hardly be construed as "week in week out".

More to the point, the vast majority of their season-ticket holders renewed theirs in April when another season in the Premiership looked a virtual certainty!

It'll be interesting to see how many they get week in week out next season.

on the night of the match if the weather is "wet" which would make the pitch slightly muddy, the match will be postponed as the expect the wed*esday fans to get on the pitch and roll in the mud which would make the surface unplayable on.

Average attendance for Owls 20724
Average attendance for the Blades 24998

Your attendance against us was 30486, meaning just shy of an extra 10,000 turning up to the game.

Say we get 32,000 for the game againt yourselves, that would mean an extra 7,000 on attendance.

Lets get this right, I know we didn't fill the stadium, however did you notice the triangle that wasn't used for away fans? Health and safety, that holds 2000, as the old away allocation was near enough 7500. The sides of the North and South have been cordended off also, that again is near enough 3000 seats, so you will find about 5,000 seats were probably empty, not the 10,000 quoted. Not having a go, just advising my son!

on the night of the match if the weather is "wet" which would make the pitch slightly muddy, the match will be postponed as the expect the wed*esday fans to get on the pitch and roll in the mud which would make the surface unplayable on.

All depends where you were sat. I was sitting in the south stand, middle section halfway between eighteen yd line and The Kop with my nephew and it did seem that United were very quiet but that still doesnt mean they didnt make any noise at all . Personally I cant really see 6,000 Unitedites all sat together in the away end at Hillsborough NOT making any noise atall if you get my drift.

Think the clash he meant was a football match clash FD not the clash of hooligans.
The clash you are talking about was the TV star who said "I want their top boy toe to toe" found a willing Blade and was drinking from a straw for a couple of weeks.

The reason Bramall Lane will look full tonight is they are allowing peopel to buy tickets without stubs, Therefore there are going to be loads of Wednesday fans like myself who couldn't get tickets in the away end sat in the kop and the other stands.

People tried to explain the empty seats at Hillsborough last time before but people don't want to listen. It was because you had to have at least 2 tickets stubs from mathches previously. Many people who can afforded to pay for the odd game couldn;t afford to get the stubs. Whereas tonight at Bramall all the United fans who go once in a blue moon can get tickets and they'll also be quite a few Wednesday fans in the stands.

Mates of mine who aren't season ticket holders had to get 2 tickets, one for the Wednesday match and one for another e.g. Norwich, Coventry or Leicester etc, i presume thats gone out of the window?

Any Reg, don't forget to give us a wave when Sharp bangs the 3rd in!!! :hihi:

I sat with on the lower away stand with the Wednesday fans at Hillsborough for a derby match, its a horrible experience esp as Wednesday won 3-1 that day.

The Box Office has put in place a system whereby no-one can buy a ticket for the home stands unless they have previously bought a ticket this season and are on the database.

The fact that some Blades are buying tickets for their Wendy mates exploits the security system that the Box Office have tried to put into place.

If any Wendy fan is stupid enough to sit in the home stands, they do so at their own peril IMO!

Define 'behave themselves' Stockers....!

To me, they would have to sit there in silence; not cheer if they score; and cheer when we score!

Unless it's a bore no-score-draw, I think the Wendy fans will be quite easily spotted at some point during the match, and although you and I might not do anything about it, there will be some that will....

As I say though, if they want to take their chances and all that.....!

The reason Bramall Lane will look full tonight is they are allowing peopel to buy tickets without stubs,

As explained previously, there are provisions that you have to be on our database and been to a Blades game this season.

Therefore there are going to be loads of Wednesday fans like myself who couldn't get tickets in the away end sat in the kop and the other stands.

Lets not forget there was many United fans in the home end at Hillsborough, so lets not kid ourselves.

People tried to explain the empty seats at Hillsborough last time before but people don't want to listen. It was because you had to have at least 2 tickets stubs from mathches previously.

ERRONEOUS. In some instances, Wednesday fans only needed one ticket stub. In other instances, season ticket holders could go and purchase SINGLE tickets for their friends (upto 2 tickets if I recall correctly) if they so wished.

Other methods was the 2 ticket stub scheme, and I personally see no problem with this.

Whereas tonight at Bramall all the United fans who go once in a blue moon can get tickets and they'll also be quite a few Wednesday fans in the stands.

We have an average attendance of approx 25k yes? Say there is 32k there tonight, that is an extra 7k fans. Wednesday average approx 21k, there was over 30k for the United game, equating to in excess of 9k fans. The difference between 9,000 and 7,000 is..... Well I'm sure you can figure that out. Surely then, with Wednesday getting more "one-off" fans, that United fans are possibly more loyal?

There are however plenty of arguements to counter balance that I know.

Just showing you it isn't as clear cut as you try and make it.

O I'm a proper fan in the last seven seasons I've had a season ticket for the last six. I was in South Africa last summer when they were being sold so all my money had been saved for that.
