I know there are various stickies all over the place, but would it be good to have one on the front page with basic info on the forum - maybe a little on its origins, perhaps a few house rules, but also what co-admins, mods, assistant mods do (so people are clear) - maybe some of the 'whos' to contact where appropriate (I know the contact us button does a lot of that but if there's anything specific) and info on other little titbits like why the special interest groups are there, how you get custom user names, maybe some other stuff I can't think of right now. Kind of an mini-SF FAQ I guess.

It could also be updated regularly with SF big news (e.g. new mods etc). I think having something on the front page rather than in just a few boards (eg Sheffield discussion) would help those users who don't go in every board.

I know some of this info is avabilable already, but you have to dig for it - it's not easy to get.

You can find details of the team and what they do here: http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/misc.php?do=page&template=Team - this is accessible through the Forum Team link on any page.

We also have a lot of details on our Help & Contact Us page, if you click on one of the links it opens up a whole number of other FAQs - give it a try :)

I'm not saying your idea is a bad idea, it's just that beyond a place to list forum news (which is generally handled via announcements) there isn't a lot that we've not already got online.

Oh no, I know it's there, but you have to root around to find it, that's the point I was making. It's not EASILY there.

there's a few things that are a bit difficult to find

for some reason the 'offers' button seems to have disappeared off the side menu (for example), and occasionally somebody posts a link to a page I have not since been able to find
