The wire from my partner's bra has been let loose in our washing machine, you can hear it in the background when the machine is spinning. Has anyone removed wire of this nature from their machine, apparently it is a very common occurrence in the world of washing machines. I'm reluctant to get an engineer round for what may be a 2 minute job and which will leave me £50 poorer!

It is a very common problem.
Not able to answer your exact query - but you definitely need to get the wire out asap, before it breaks the washer for good.
(here speaks a woman of experience on this matter and the proud owner of a new washer as a result)

Yup... had that happen 3 times thanks to housemates/partners/etc... bra's losing their wires...
Usually it can result in the pump being jammed which is never fun.
For myself I watched my landlord (who was handy with WM's) when he cleared it the first time and was able to do it myself every other time in the future... but not recommended for those who aren't mechanically minded.
Yep, I'm pretty familiar with removing parts and panels etc.
Before I dive in, can you give me any guidance re where to start?

Word of advice for the future. Put bras in a pillow case or similar bag before washing it so if the wire does come out it should stay in the pillowcase only other option is to get implants so they stand proud without any scaffolding!

Is the machine still under guarantee!!
This happened to me with my Dyson Washing Machine - I phoned the dyson helpline purely for advise on getting it out (it was my fault!!)
They sent an engineer round to remove it free of charge as still under guarantee!!!!
Didn't question it!!
But never wash them in washer now just handwash in a bucket!! Once bitten, twice shy!!!
Never wore bra's until my 2nd child born but needed the scaffolding after the 3rd!!!
This is a common problem though!! Only took him 10 minutes so wouldn't think a local engineer would charge the earth!!

Excellent, I'll give them a call to see if I can get a freebie. If they charge, I'm stubborn enough to want to sort this out myself. To those who have seen this done, do you start by taking the back panel off?
All my underwire bra's are labelled handwash only. I'm assuming for this reason. It is that people are too lazy to handwash their bra's or do they have machine instructions on some underwire bra's? Just curious.
