Has anybody else of late felt overly tired and exhausted for no reason.

My joints hurt in a muscular way, i feel more aware of my viens. The feel hot and bothered. They also itch after long periods of not moving.

I was really concerned about this at first, but at work today another two people have mentioned having similar symtoms.

Very Strange...

I am a bit tired too, and itchy.
I think it's just the time of year and too much tea and coffee. When spring comes around I'll be jumping around and full of beans again.

Also I had a bit of a cold a few weeks ago and still have a little cattarh, so probably have the remnants of it in my system.

Don't worry about it.

erm, does the radiation effect your ability to count ?

And I woudn't worry about the radiation of a mobile phone mast if you have a mobile phone yourself.

You probably get more radiation in your body from the average tv set or CRT computer monitor than your local phone mast.

It sounds a bit like one of the flu like viruses to me. There have been several of them going around since before Christmas.

Yes, it's a mild version of SAD. I get it too, sometimes quite severely.

ive been really overly tired recently....i do have along day though.
I have to be up at 6.30am in order to catch the bus at 7.45, which gets me to work for about 8.45, i finish work at 5.30, then on 2 days of the week i have a night class at 6-9.
then i see my boyfriend for a bit everynight, then i get home about 11ish, half an hour on the treadmill, then shower and bed...

but yesterday my boyfriend came to pick me up and we were going to a bar for a few drinks, this was only about 7.30pm... on the way i fell asleep ...when we arrived at the bar i said lets sit in car for 5 mins just while i wake myself up...ended up fallin back asleep for 15 mins.

when we were on our way back home again i fell asleep...

i find myself havin to rely on proplus...mum said i should go to the doctors but i dont see the point in making a big fuss over a bit of tiredness!?!?

i dont work out that much though thats the thing... i do half an hour every night without fail on treadmill, then on a friday afternoon, i help teach dancing at a performing arts college, and thats the only exercise i get to do really.

my jobs easy...just extremley boring, its taking payments and complaints over the phone for the council.

so really theres no reason for me to be soo tired all the time

Well,

Looks like you're in bed at midnight and up for 6-30am.

That's a maximum of 6.5 hours sleep a night.

You're excercising for half an hour before going to bed so you probably are still a bit hyper when you try to sleep.

just relax, do less, chill.

Joe :)

well i get to sleep straight away when i go to bed... and its less than 6.5 hourse sleep, coz i get in every night approx 11pm, then talk to my mum etc for a bit, get on treadmill by about 11.30 get off it at 12am, then ive to go for a shower, dry my hair, straighten my hair, sort out what clothes am gonna wear for the nex day etc, so its generally about 1.30am i get to bed...i never get to bed any earlier anyway put it that way lol

But i never feel sleepy durin the day it just about 6 olock i start to feel really drained and fallin asleep wherever i park my bum basically lol

I think your body is telling you something! 5 hours sleep every night is probably not enough for you. It's ok a couple of times a week but not every night! Chill out more.

My guess is, you don't feel sleepy during the day because you drink tea, coffee or coke etc which keeps you going, then stop drinking it maybe late in the afternoon and that's when the tiredness kicks in early evening.

scottf
16-03-2005, 11:34
YOu are only getting 5 hours a night- thats way not enough!!!

The RDA for sleep is 8 hours for your body to function normally!!!!

lesley1985
16-03-2005, 11:35
yeah but i find the longer i sleep the more tired i am the next day normally, coz i've thought that might be the problem before, so i had enough hours sleep but i seemed to feel more tired

Trying it once or twice won't work. Your body prob will feel more tired for a while but give it a chance to normalise and you'll feel great.

On the odd occasion that I have a massive sleep, maybe 10-12 hours, I feel really tired for it. It's because it's too much sleep. You probably felt the too much sleep syndrome, but after a while it'll settle and you'll feel fine on 7-9 hours sleep.

having diabetes makes you tired - you can get a free check at Lloyds chemists.

There's definately something going around; I've kind of got a sore throat, kind of got a headache, kind of got a cough; none of them would cause me to complain about them individually, but they're making me feel quite ill in a non-specific way! :(

I feel tired if I get less than 8 hours sleep for more than a few weeks at a time.
It takes about a week to recover from it, and then my sleep pattern settles down to just >8 hrs a night.

If you feel unusually tired for longer than a day or two (with no explanation that you can think off) then go and have a check up, it can't hurt you.

Lucky you for having a sympathetic ma! My mum used to say "if you don't know what's up with you, then you aren't ill".

I've not been 100% since the end of January!! Similar symptons to what you've already said: achey muscles and joints, tight chesty cough and/or runny nose; headaches and occasionally aversion to light.

I went to the docs - a very rare occurence, believe me - and he said 'I'm not going to give you anything for it'. I missed a day's work (cf last comment) and after about 5 or 6 weeks I started to feel better.

But yesterday, I started to feel rubbish again. It's either come back or it never went. I feel a bit sickly this time, but have just been home for an hour's rest.

I just hope it is the fact that I'm ready for some warm, sunny weather. But I've never known a bug linger like this one.

I know just what you mean I've had a sore throat on and off since December. When I went to the doctors about it last month he said that half of Sheffield had got it and that he had one himself that had been there since the 18th of December!:o Sounds like we all probably keep passing it back to each other so it goes round again.:(

You're going to have to wait and see if you start to feel any better soon. You need to make sure you get plenty of rest and a well balanced diet (plenty of fruit and veg).

I started with somthing similiar 3 years ago now and it got to the point where I could barely get out of bed. Couldn't get up stairs without a struggle and slept 16hrs a day.

Every test the Doc's did came back negative. I was off work but had to go back coz I couldn't afford to go on to no pay. My boss's at work were totally unsympathetic and I ended up having to leave (after a lot of hassle). Still having tests, still seeing consultants regularly and the only thing they can come up with is ME.

I have good days but usually end up doing too much and then sleep for 20hrs the following day! Even after 3 years it's difficult to find the right balance coz I just want to be able to do all the things i used to do. But a good laugh always helps! :hihi:

I found that whilst i've just been on holiday snowboarding, i was actually less tired, despite being jetlagged and doing more physically. I think sitting in front of a pc under artificial lighting just knackers me out.

I've also become more sensitive to noise, fan noises have become really irritating, which was a problem in the hotel as you could here the aircon from somewhere all night long.
