View Full Version : How about a pop up to warn you that your PM space is nearly full?

I hate missing messages because my PM space is full. Sometimes I leave a message in my inbox for a few days to remind me to do something and don't do enough housekeeping in my PM area. The sent messages stock pile too and I forget to empty them.

How about some sort of pop up that tells you that your PM space is nearly full and I should do some deleting before incoming messages are rejected?

This is good .... Bigger PM space would be nice too .... i sometimes like to save some PMs but cant as it takes up too much space ... can we not buy more space through paypal or summet ..?

Maybe have a donation section, and 'supporters' of Sheffield Forum get a slightly bigger messaging space?

Col/Simpy : please submit an individual suggestion for bigger inboxes - it makes things easier to track.

This suggestion is about installing a popup warning and while I appreciate they're linked, they are technically 2 different ideas.

but why not just delete read / not needed pms?
i delete 99% of mine as soon as they are read...then my pm box never gets near full :)

See that bit at the bottom of your Inbox ... "Download files as Text".

Save your PM's that way every so often and then delete everything in the In/Sent Boxes.

I'm assuming it's a standard feature of vBulletin, as CADTutor.net already has it, but the note we have at the top right hand side of the homepage here wrt pms is at the top of every page on CT, and it alerts when your inbox is 90% full

I find it particularly useful as I navigate by 'new posts' so don't often see the home page, and I tend to forget that 'sent items' also bung up your 'inbox' (misnomer that that is)

I am investigating software solutions to this problem, it may be the case that the Private Messages menu option (to the left of any page) will reflect amount of space left. Alternatively a pop-up would be great.
