I realise this isn't about Sheffield, but I was hoping someone could help:

Does anyone know any secure, near a tube, overnight parking in North London? Like around the M1-- I know there are car parks at Brent Cross, but I'm not sure they are overnight?

Cheers, Jill x

I always park at Elstree and Borehamwood if I was going to drive and take the train from there, not sure about overnight parking though. Fast Thameslink into Central London.

By the time you have done with petrol and parking wouldnt it be cheaper to go all the way on the train?

Its not recommended taking the car any further, unless its xmas day:loopy:

Mikey,

Have you seen the train prices? And with 2 of us going it is much much cheaper to pay for parking and petrol!

We drove to Cockfosters and got the tube into London for the Arsenal match. The carpark at the tube station had an attendent, but not sure about over night. It was only a couple of quid for all day parking too.

Yes i did about 2 weeks ago, although im not positive it was overnight but it was free after 6pm and i didn't pick the car up till 2am and there was no probs getting out. I was under the fly over in hammersmith outside the hammersmith apollo, amazingly REM were playing there that night and there were plenty of spaces and its well lit, its beside a church and you have to follow the road round to get back to it. its right next to the tube entrance of the shopping centre too. hope it helps.

Thanks guys. Sheffield people are so lovely!

Cockfosters would be ideal for me but I definitely need overnight parking (I'm going sat am and coming back sun pm)

what's wrong with just parking in a residential street where there isn't a residents parking scheme? why pay for parking when you can have it for free - e.g. in the residential streets around alexandra palace/bounds green

Harriet,

That's cool too, but I'm not an expert on London or where these free parking streets are. Will find out where BoundsGreen/Alexandra palace are, though, cheers.

fair enough - i reccomend my parents street - victoria road n22 - free parking, nosy neighbours to keep an eye out for dodgy criminals and 10 minutes walk to bounds green tube :)

I second that. Used to live just down the road in Wood Green which is a bit more dodgy than Bounds Green / Muswell Hill. Alexandra Palace has a car park and video surveillance.
