I use both a 8 meg and 64 meg card when I’m taking, ( my incredible fantastic, top quality ) photographs with my Nikon coolpix 775 Camera. When the 8 meg card gets full I sometimes use the 64 meg to take photographs until It’s convenient for me to download and clear the card.
When I change the card, does the sequence numbering of the *.JPEG Files continue in sequence or does t revert back to the last number photograph taken by the respective card?
Thank you.
It depends on the camera, but with most cameras the sequencing should continue from the last picture it took (:

Don't know specifically about the Coolpix 775 but every digital camera I've ever used just continues the numbering sequence from the last picture you took regardless of which card you put in. Some dSLRs have an option to reset the numbering when you change card but that could get a bit confusing if you use several cards per session as I usually do.
The only time I've ever seen a camera get really confused over numbering was when I put in a card that was already half used by another camera and already contained a picture with the number the camera wanted to use next. In fact that's not quite accurate - the camera coped well - it just went up the sequence till it found a number it could use - but it sure as hell confused me!
Whether or not the number sequence continues depends on the SEQ.NUMBER menu as described on page 115 of the user manual (http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/CP775man.pdf) - options are on, off and reset as described on the page (see also page 23 for how to access it)
Its a very slow download unfortunately but well worth looking at :)
