I need to double glaze the front of my house ( a standard 3 bed semi in crosspool) 2 bay windows (5 panes in each bay) and the small front bedroom window.

Firstly, I know costs vary, but what should I be expected to pay for these 3 windows. I have heard stories of sales reps making a first quote of £10,000 then coming down to £4000 to secure sales.

Secondly, who does a good job?

Take your measurements down to somewhere like Wickes and see what the cost woulf be do buy the new frames and fit them yourself.
Add on 2-3 days labour costs.
Now when you phone around for quotes you know how much you're looking at.
When the friendly salesman calls round, ask him if he can match your figure. If not, then don't let him in.
