I don't even know why I watch Most Haunted anymore; it's got soooo predictable. Every episode, certain things ALWAYS happpen:


Yvette will state that this weeks location is one of the scariest places they've ever been.
Derek will become 'posessed' by a spirit and shout in a strange voice in a pantomime stylee.
Yvette will cry whilst on her own in the dark.
Derek will wear at least one item of clothing that whilst clearly expensive, looks like he picked it up from the bargains section of 'Help the Aged'.
Dust will be passed off as orbs.
There will be a close up of Yvette shot in green where her mascara resembles spiders.
The make-up girls will swear and have it beeped out.
The man at the end will try and pass everything off as a completely natural occurrance.


I should work behind the scenes for them dontcha think? :hihi:

interesting points, altho derek is a good actor, his performances are worthy of oscar nomination, sat nite, the ouija board and the glass is going crazy on the table, then yvette saying give us more, show us more, so derek goes into a "possession" , calling yvette a bitch, truer words never more spoken!!! :D :o

i can agree, its all so made up for the cameras. derek needs replacing with colin fry, he's far more plausible!!

Come on, people, credit where credit's due!

Most Haunted Live's great fun and fabulous tv - when there's some action! It was brilliantly entertaining last night - taking bets on which member of the crew was going to be afflicted next! I'm not surprised they all seemed to be keeling over in faints/near faints - goodness only knows what the air down in those dungeons was like. :gag:

Great value for a Monday night. :thumbsup:

And I really like Derek - whatever else, he's a fantastic showman.

It realy is the biggest load of rubbish, nothing ever happens and you know Yvette will start to make it more interesting with her "did you hear that?" and "something just brushed my hair" etc. etc.

Even the table tipping is a bit boring now.

If you notice he always seems to match the furniture of the place he is visiting. I think shirley ghostmans based on derek they seam to talk like eash other!

I agree! I think Shirley Ghostman is definately a poke at Derak Acorah (Raymond Aturoo as I now affectionately refer to him!) Shirley's on tonight; can't wait!

what i want to know it why no famous people come threw to derek ( or have i missed one when he does)
its funny to watch him .the last one i saw was live at blackpool when he got possessed as a african warrior i think it was ,,the shrunken head im on about in that museum that was use in black magic..was funny when he came out with a tribe chant..and to this day no one knows what it ment

Thirty years in the business, and she never discovered anything that defied explanation. So how they manage to do it week after week on Most Haunted, it... well, it just defies explanation.

you'll have to start playing "word-bingo" wehn that programme comes on,

you know, 5 points for every "I'm scared", 6 points for every "she wants to be left alone", or "she lost her life"..

we used to play this game when watching the Food programme; Jilly Goolden, and Oz Clarke would review the wines, and we'd score every adjective they used to describe the wine, bnecause there were certain phrases they would trot out, week in, week out.
we had "oak-y" "i'm getting Fruit" "i'm getting flowers" or my favourite:- "I'm getting violets".

It was hilarous to see how many variations on that theme they would use.

I don't remember Derek contacting King Henry VII, but the other medium Most Haunted sometimes uses (Ian something?) claimed to have contacted Henry the Eighth during a live broadcast of "I'm a Celebrity .... and Frightened out of my wits" or whatever it's called.

Cheryl Baker simply didn't believe him, and commented along the lines of 'why would someone like that bother with the likes of us?' Good question indeed.

All that so-called evidence collected on camera and on tape over all those series and all those live events...if Most Haunted was anything but ludicrous bunkum we should all have to believe that every stray fart and floating speck of dust was the work of the supernatural.

Slighty off topic (that never stopped me before :thumbsup: ), I went to see a live performance of Derek Acorah in Scarborough on Saturday! What a pile of old rubbish! £17 a ticket, 2000 people in the audience, and he did about 8 readings, four of which were wildly off the mark! £34,000 for an evenings work? I'd like some of that!
