Hi Daz,

I would try searching online as you have access to the internet. These places I find useful:

Hays (http://www.haysworks.com/uk/index.jsp?Channel=common&Content=/uk/common/welcome.htm&type=none)

Job Centre Plus (http://www.jobcentreplus.gov.uk/cms.asp?Page=/Home)

TotalJobs (http://www.totaljobs.com/jobseekers/totaljobs.asp)

Jobsite (http://www.jobsite.co.uk/index.html)

Reed (http://www.reed.co.uk/default.aspx)

Monster (http://www.monster.co.uk/)

Hope these help, and good luck!

What a stupid bloody post, then you have a stez because I wanted more information to try and assist you!
Sheffield has many jobs, we have shops, you could work in one of them. We have call centres, post men/women, taxis, cleaners, factories. OOoo, the list is almost endless. Pay varies from below minimum wage to above minimum wage. Someone like you may get paid somewhere with in those limits and may or may not be able to get a job. Why not become a traffic warden, someone with such a pleasant attitude as yourself would be quite suited to that, or get a job in one of the benefits offices. You could then use your interpersonal skills to assist other people in having a bad day.

Well said ! pmsl

Ok...ill try not to infuriate you anyfurther...but give us a clue about which jobs in general. As Neeeeek quite rightly said its far too vague for us to help you any more with out any specifics. I work for the City Council and there are many well paid and interesting jobs here.

yeh exactly, you can't expect a specific answer to such a general question.
what job do you do at the moment? what skills do you have? what preferences over hours/environment/location/type (office or outdoors etc) do you have?

daz25 profile occupation says "i have my own business"

So my answer to him(?) is - go and mind your own business :heyhey:

ive got my own online business which you no NOTHING about! so before you judge, get your facts straight!!!

The reason for this post is i want to know is it worth looking for work & earning a crust like ive been doing or isnt the work / pay worth it?

ie is the pay good & is the work enjoyable in general???

Please lay off the personal abuse.

In general, politely asked, well structured questions usually get polite and meaningful responses.

So, if we can keep things to teh subject rather than insults, I'll be a happy bunny.

ie is the pay good & is the work enjoyable in general???

This is not a personal attack so everyone keep their pants on but it's still a ridiculous question!!

I worked a few years ago in a sausage factory. The work was crap and the pay was crap. I now work for Siemens, job ok, pay ok!! Some people may think I get paid a lot, some very little.

If all you are capable off is working in a sausage factory then I would say the pay and work is rubbish. But then again you might like working in a sausage factory, some people did!

If you have a master’s degree in eating buns and someone offered you a job working 3 hours a week eating buns and you got paid 50grand a year then you might think it's a good job with good pay, I would, even if I didn’t like buns.

Your question is daft.

Daveyboy

sausage's ??? siemens ??? bun's ???

what are you on about ?

one too many pain killers if you ask me !!

the obvious answer if your looking to earn a crust is a job as at Fletchers bakery in hilsborugh

dont know why you'd want it though i think the crust is the worst part of the bread ???

hope that helps ??

(ps: ask a stupid question......)

ok then daz so i can help you (which we are all trying to do) what sort of salary would you consider to be good/worth it? because people's idea of a good standard of living varies. For example, a graduate in sheffield would consider £15k to be a good starting salary where as a graduate in london would want £18k plus - so what sort of salary would you like?
generally the people i know enjoy their job, but that of course depends on which job they are doing. What is you online business and do you enjoy it? what jobs do you think you'd enjoy doing? - maybe if you told me that, I could reccomend some companies/places to look?

The question is far from daft.

Ive got experience in many jobs & im also a keen learner in new jobs.

Ive done admin, call center, retail, security, web design, sports & leisure so im open to many offers i find in sheffield.

At the end of the day, the pay doesnt have to be great enough to make me rich, all i need is a job that i enjoy doing with a pay rate that me & my family can survive on :)

Daz25, please tell us what kind of previous work experience, qualifications, interests, etc you have and we might be able to come up with some suggestions. Surely with 10,000 fellow forummers we could come up with something!

Like Neeeeeeek said, it's too broad a question as it is, but I'm sure if you narrowed it down you'd get some ideas.

Ooops, typed too slowly! Are you registered with any agencies? Maybe register with a load of different ones who specialise in various careers.

In fairness, I have tried on a number of occasions to help this user, but I won't waste my time doing so anymore. On each occasion that I or others have suggested or researched something, it never seems to be good enough, or we get a sarcastic response back.

Daz25,
please listen to neeeeeek he's a very clever bloke who knows what he's talking about.

In addition to that, I understand that the standard of living is particularly good in sheffield, compared to many other parts of the country.

If you want to find out about jobs and employment in sheffield I recommend that you get a sheffield star newspaper on a thursday. There is usually hundreds of positions in public and private sectors adverised there, depending on your qualifications.
