Yep, closed down. About x90 Yates across the UK have shut up shop this weekend (many being sold off). Far to many bars anyway - goto the independents not the chains.

Would the fact that someone got stabbed close to it, after being in it, be a factor as to why it closed? Or was it purely because they were getting sold off?

The Bagshawe is no longer owned by Yates, it is owned by The Passionate Pub Co. My son works there.

I'll have a shot at the Atholl and the Nailmakers. But I haven't been in either for over 40 years. Maybe this year.

Nailmakers certainly. Wasn't there a youngers pub past Dronfield, on the way to Chesterfield too?

Hey, someone who worked at the Sheffield Yates here until Easter Weekend.

Yep, Laurel put loads of the Yates sites up for sale about a month ago then a week ago decided to just shut them all up.

So bye bye Yates, the horrible overpriced ****hole it was :|

As far as I'm aware, planning permission has been granted to turn it into a shop.

Went into the yates that is now where rsvp used to be and was way overcharged earlier today. Dont think the barman liked our persistance did he julado lol. Have sent them an e mail about their poor customer service, even though on their web site the sheffield yates doesnt seem to exist.

The numpty who served us charged foxydebs for two single measures of vodka and coke (in the same glass)....and then tried to say the special was only on certain days....what part of the very large print saying doubles and a mixer is £3.30 ALL DAY EVERY DAY did the myopic individual not quite understand.

Apparently he said he didn't know and had been charging others for two singles in the past....wonder where all the extra £2.50's went???

You did right foxydebs....:hihi:

Wokon is going in to part of it. Plans to open in about 2-3 weeks.

Just received an email from Yates giving me a free cheeseburger and chips if I register with the site, when I tried to finalise my registration it wanted me to pick my local Yates and Sheffield wasn't present. Do you think that I'll be able to use my voucher still in the one near city hall? (If it's still present that is, haven't been around that area for a while)
