I was just curious because you might not know if he person is okay. Do you just add the person after you have chatted with them? or do you wait to be asked to be added to their freinds list?

ON MSN? I WOULD MAYBE WAIT TO BE ADDED TO THEIRS FIRST?

I think that the general etiquette in these matters is to ask the person if you may 'add' them before you go your separate ways at the end of a chat.

That's what tends to happen to me, and it's what I tend to do if I want to keep in touch with someone.
