150 car parking spaces doesn't sound a lot, but it is next to the police station which is handy in that part of town.

The traffic along Tenter St. and West Bar Green is pretty heavy and not likley to get better.

A huge white 11 storey concrete and steel tower was a good choice then.

Hey Maverick,

Ground clearance has finished and I think they are starting work on the foundations at the moment. Apparently there was some dispute with the contractors over pay so there has been a couple of weeks delay. Anyway, looks like it's moving again. However, you may want to look at progress on neighboughing Scotland Street which is up to 6 or 7 storeys now (final height being 14 or 15).

Either way, the best apartments are likely to have already been sold off plan. You need to speak to Saxton Mee for Velocity or Blundells for Scotland Street.

And Nick2, the velocity development will be 15 storeys not 11 but considering it's opposite the fairly large HSBC building I don't think it is out of place here.

I looked into getting info on prices but drew a blank.. Have any idea of approx prices for a 1 bed in the development!!! ballpark figure would suffice.. Do you think the HSBC building will increase the prices much??

I sent for info on Velocity and got a letter saying they'd invite me to an open evening when they're released in order to "reserve my place" - slightly presumptuous!! No detail given about price or when they'll be ready

Does 150K sound expensive for a 1 bedapt......

The Scotland Street development opposite V1 doesn't have any renders or info any about the apartments anywhere, does anyone know if Blundells has actually sold any of these Scotland Street apartments.

scotland st are all sold and so are velocity phase 1 prices were from 90k for a 1bedder
you pay £1,000 non ref dep and then 10% of the purchase price on exchange

Where did you find that out greensheff???? Was that for both developments (starting at 90k)..? How much do you think phase 2 will cost in Velocity or will there even be a phase 2??

Are You confusing "Velocity Village" at west bar with "Velocity Tower" opposite Waitrose on the ring road at the Moore Street Roundabout ?
Velocity tower is still awaiting the go ahead to extend upward, and it is rent only.

No it is paused at 22 floors.
There is an application in to add more floors for an apart-hotel and a skybar on the top floor.
I for one am excited at the prospect of having a pint of beer on the 36th floor as I look down on the city below.

It would really add an essential tourist activity to our city.
I have been up observation towers and high up bars in foreign cities and it is a superb experience.

Also if it goes ahead it will be the highest skybar in the north of England.

That would be amazing, I have been in the Sky bar at the Guinness brewery and it's a really great experience. We need loads more attractions in Sheffield, we have so much catching up to do....
