I have noticed that my cats come right away when my B/f or I whistle and are really fussy , not the toms though just the females  I just wondered if anyone else had noticed this strange Phenomenon in their cats?
Our cats, male and female have always answered to whistles and we had a special way of calling them via whistles.
Our neighbours must have thought we were mad :)

Yes and it's certain songs. They like the Sweeny theme tune and the one that is guaranteed isI Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to be Free (otherwise known as Film whatever with Barry Norman music!) that drives them mental! They start biting each other and if i do it for long enough Ted starts to try to mate Basil! (both girls!)
I can't whistle properly either.
Yes we have one cat like that, She also can't resist trying to bite the mobile when it rings, All the cats come if you have a balloon and pull the ends so it squeeks, They love chasing after it when you let it go. My dog is the same with the penny whistle or when I'm on the violin or even when the smoke alarms goes off. Crazy

:hihi: I wonder if its to do with the pitch then, it only seems to be the girls that show interest here, if I whistle a tune (I do say tune quite loosely ) even if they are asleep they get up right away and come over and jump onto my knee, with tails up and all fussy ... no mystery like a cat eh
