Not sure where to put this so will try it here. Am planning to grow veggies etc next year so would appreciate any advice from any gardeners, especially on companion planting and preparation as am new to this and want to grow things as organically as possible. Cheers.

There are lots of books on this out there, but one good idea may be to visit Heeley City Farm, as I seem to remember they practice companion planting as well - for fitting more plants in as well as for pest reduction.
One thing I do know is that marigolds are great for keeping blackfly off your tomatoes.
I used to have quite an interest in this, and we're about to start a historical garden that will rely on some of the older ideas for companion planting, so if anything comes up I will let you know.

latest research suggests that slubs and snails don't like garlic.
Plant garlic round your crops to keep em at bay!!
I also remember my gran planting marigolds inbetween her crops - something about keeping insects off??
