Anybody else missing this as much as me?

The Forum has become little more than a notice board since this was removed.

Life is politics and taken to it's conclusion we wouldn't be able to talk about anything.

We can talk politics without talking party politics and if it was just one or two offending threads why couldn't they be removed?

Anybody else agree and want to campaign for it's return?

I miss it, but I don't miss the racist drivel that was too often being spouted by those directed to this site via S****front.

Hopefully by the 21st they'll have disappeared and the adults can get the discussion going again.

I don't see how unless the members are banned or we are effectively gagged on certain issues.

I found the politics section to be a blight on an otherwise excellent forum. The amount of locked threads and the way each post just deteriorated into a tit-for-tat battle and personal insults was pathetic.

Considering Geoff has been aiming for some publicity for the Sheffield Forum in general, the last thing a reporter needs to see is the politics section and give a negative report based on that.

The politics Forum will be back.

We wanted a 'time out' before the election gets called, in order to resolve policies and work out how to moderate and police the Politics Forum more effectively.

It actually swallowed about 70% of Moderator time and energy, to the point where we were not doing the general 'tidying up' tasks that were needed.

So, we decided to take a time out now, get stuff sorted, give ourselves a break and then go back to the Politics Forum with renewed vigour.

Hopefully this answers the question posed - yes, it will be bought back. We'll bring it back when we can properly support it, but it will be back.

And I'm closing this thread because there's no need for a campaign - it will be bought back.
