Hi,

I am getting married in just over two weeks and still do not have any idea what Im going to do with my hair and make-up.

Does anyone know if there is a good hairdresser/makeup person who does this sort of thing?

Or any ideas about what people normally do.

Thanks

Try Elaine Davisons on Ecclesall Road. If you speak to the manager Monica tell her what you are looking to do.

I am a consultant for Virgin Vie cosmetics and my manager Jo does bridal make up. She is always booked up and is a really lovely person too - will PM when I get home from work with her details.:)

Get in touch with someone, quick! They should come to you the mronign of the wedding and sort you out then, but you really should have a trial beforehand - they should include this in the final price and keep going no matter how long it takes until you are happy! Don't leave it to the day!

A friend of ours had her hair and make up for the big day done at Hunky Dory on Chesterfield Rd, and she looked a million dollars

Ask Strix, she seems to have weddings on the brain and I am sure she will have that bit covered..

I'm getting married in scotland though. My make-up and hair are being done by professional friends from peterborough - sorry, and good luck

I heard about people going to a make up counter and getting their make up done their and buying the stuff ready for themselves to do.

I got somebody to do mine, I don't normally wear it so I would have looked like a sally ann or something if I had done it myself. Sorry I can't offer advice as to who as I was married in the Lake District. I found mine by looking at who was available finding out prices and then having a trial session (which costs you money) I liked what they had done so booked them for my wedding.

Ask your photographer if they can recommend somebody. My beauty therapist (what do I sound like  ) applied semi-photographic makeup for my trial. Flash photography usually eliminates most of your makeup and it can look iffy on your photos, so choose carefully.

I had a Virgin Vie consultant, Sally come to do my make-up. It was £35, which included a trial before the big day. She was great - couldn't recommend her enough.

Her email address is sally.shaw1@virgin.net

Before anyone yells at me for giving the address out, I'd just like to say it is publicly available on the Virgin Vie website ;-)
