Ok this is a little... odd.

My OH has recently been acting a little... oddly...

For instance, this morning she opened the back door to let the cat in, he`d been out all night and we were worried so she left the door slightly open and placed a brush against the door frame to stop it closing in the wind. As she was in the kitchen, the cat walked in, demanded food and because he was shivering, she picked him up and called to me that she was closing the door and bringing him upstairs where its warm.

Half an hour later I realised that the house was freezing and went down to the kitchen to make a drink.

The door was still open and the brush was still in its place holding it ajar...
I made the drinks and went back into the living room to tell her off for making the house cold and she went nuts, telling me that she had DEFINATELY closed the door.
She then said it must have opened in the wind and I reminded her that the brush was still in place and the wind couldnt have done that.

She simply wont admit that she forgot to close the door and...

Shes done quite a few forgetful things like that over the past few months, she seems to be getting worse and she wont listen to me when I tell her what shes done, she tells me that Im deliberately doing these things and blaming her because Im deliberately driving her crackers...

Now, if I wanted to drive her mad I can think of many many better ways than that!

Shes 31, and everyone has noticed that shes starting to act like her mother.
Her mother is in the early stages of alzheimers or something, she repeats herself constantly and accuses people of doing things that... well, mummy has only recently (In the past 5 years or so) started to act like this but my OH is acting like it NOW!

Am I driving her mental? Is she suffering the early stages of Too much Jabberwock syndrome?
Should I have her put down like a drooling old dog?

What would you do in this situation? I darent mention her visiting the docs because shed bite off my head, I dont mean verbally, I mean LITERALLY!
Im glad she doesnt read the forum because if she even THOUGHT I was mentioning this here she`d skin me and use my hide as a chamois leather, but poppets, youre my only hope here, her sister agrees with me but cant offer any suggestions.

I look at her mum, then I look at her and I shudder! She really gets upset when I show her these things that shes doing, Ive seen the state her dad is in after a few years of her mothers insanity and I dont wanna end up like him!

Ill call the vet...

Is she under a lot of stress? I am as forgetful as they come, just ask my OH. But seriously, I am under a lot of stress and I think of something I need to do and my mind wanders to all the other things that need doing and what I started with just falls out of my head. Maybe she reacts the way she does because she is worried that she might end up like her mother. It could also easily be a hormonal issue. Everyone thought my Aunt was losing her marbles when she went through the change and while 31 is young, it isn't unheard of. Maybe she should be checked out thoroughly and you can suggest this as gently as possible by telling her how much you love her and how worried you are for her. Good luck.

It could be stress I suppose, we have a couple of kids and one of those is diagnosed as being a stressed child and of top of that she has me to look out for, my sight is bad and due to get very much worse so that could be adding to it.

I used to do stupid things myself and I was only 20 when I was doing them. This was down to my now ex, causing me stress and constantly making a point of me acting 'stupidly'. I found myself watching what I was sayin and doing constantly. Now with my new fella, I dont act like this or say silly things, and I think this is because he doesn't laugh or call me stupid!

My memory is shocking,my hubby is always reminding me that he has already told me what I have just asked him 2 mins ago.I put stuff away and cant remember where I put it.I start to tell people something then stop mid conversation and say I cant remember what I was going to tell you..I have now decided that after having 3 kids that my brain shrank a little with each pregnancy but never return to normal afterwards..:hihi:

My memory is shocking,my hubby is always reminding me that he has already told me what I have just asked him 2 mins ago.I put stuff away and cant remember where I put it.I start to tell people something then stop mid conversation and say I cant remember what I was going to tell you..I have now decided that after having 3 kids that my brain shrank a little with each pregnancy but never return to normal afterwards..:hihi:
