bobsyouruncle 14-03-2005, 04:44 ok, so call me stupid, but my question is : how , when posting something, like my desktop pic, can i change the whole"http://img.animeotaku.info/desktop_002.jpg" to something simple like the words "my desktop", have seen it a hundred times on other peoples posts, ie "story here", which is a link to the story.

?????? not sure where these boxes are, or when/where they appear.
confused even more now!!:help:
LoopyLou 14-03-2005, 06:22 Sorry,,,,,
Step 1 - click on "post reply"
Step 2 - write your reply !
Step 3 - to include a hyperlink, click on the http:// button at the top of the post reply screen.
step 4 - the first box that appears is for the words you want to be underlined and linked such as the "story here" example in your original post. Type in the words you want and then click ok
step 4 - the second box that appears is for the link itself. type in the shortcut starting with http.. etc then click ok.
a load of script then appears in your reply, which when you submit the post will turn into the link that you want.
try it, on this post.......see if you can include a link to the BBC website (www.bbc.co.uk)
bobsyouruncle 14-03-2005, 06:26 ok, let me try this.......
ok, steps 1 + 2 done (obviously!)
i dont seem to have a "http" bar on my reply page,
LoopyLou 14-03-2005, 06:31 Mmmm try this.....
Click on the Your options menu on the left hand side of this screen.
Then select Edit options
Then make sure
"Other Options
Use vBCode quick links on your message input screens?
Enabling this option allows you to quickly manipulate different aspects of your posts including color, font, and size. In addition you can click on smilies to have them inserted into your posts. You may disable this option if it causes problems for you. "
= Yes (the last question on the screen)
then come back and see if your http button is there....
bobsyouruncle 14-03-2005, 06:33    finally sorted it out, like a fool, i didnt have the vB code enabled, that was the problem!
