Is there anyone else out there who has been let down by social services. Our social worker is on sick leave most of the time and when she is at work she can never be reached. We are supposed to have a statutory visit at least once a month. We are lucky if we see or hear from her except for a review chaired by a senior officer every six months. We were supposed to receive a support packaghe none of which has materialized. This has been going on for 11 years. I am now making an official complaint through a solicitor and if I have to will see it all the way through court. If anyone else is in a similar situation maybe we could all get together and start a support group to help each other. I know the service is under staffed and under funded but its no excuse. They started all this they should see it through.
I have adopted two children recently and I am a teacher, so I have dealing with social services frequently. There are many problems with the service and they are over worked and underpaid but I toally understand how you feel. It is hard when you are let down and feel like there is no support for you. I am more than willing to help you out with any support you need:P

You are making a big mistake taking them to court, as you can never win!!!
