View Full Version : The Blades win and errrrmmmmm the owls draw again
canadablade 22-03-2008, 17:03 Fantastic result for the Blades today with a 1-0 win at Cup semi finalists Barnsley and Billy Sharp on the mark again :D
When oh when will wednesday play a full 90 minute match, Sickened by Wolves, West Brom and now Palace :hihi::hihi:
Sorry to those who are sick of seeing this thread week in and week out :D
not wanted 22-03-2008, 17:06 If we win our game in hand we are only 3 points off a play off spot. Crazy.

They should have sacked the drunk at Christmas :mad:
not wanted 22-03-2008, 17:13 Should never have employed him. Anyway I don't think we will make the play offs but at least we are making a go of it.

Totally agree but, we did and now we must pick up the pieces and Blackwell is doing a great job of it.
Gives us something to play for the last 7 matches, Like i said its not over till we need 4 points with one match to go.
Sorry to those who are sick of seeing this thread week in and week out :D
I'm sick of you being smug week in week out :P ;)
canadablade 22-03-2008, 17:21 I'm sick of you being smug week in week out :P ;)
Blame wednesday mate not me ;):P
discodown 22-03-2008, 17:21 Given that Blackwell appears to know how to get the best out of Billy he might have enough games left to fire us into a playoff place. I'm starting to believe its possible
Blame wednesday mate not me ;):P
Oh don't worry I do.
We had to win today and we didn't, quite harshly I might add.
I fear the worst. Today was a golden opportunity.

You might want to be nice to United and hope they beat Leicester for you.
I think you will just stay up, I hope you dont but think you might just do enough :D
not wanted 22-03-2008, 17:35 The last 5 years the team finishing 6th have got between 71 and 76 points. If we win every game left which I think is unlikely we will end up with 74 points but this table is very close. I think our goal difference will let up down but our run in isn't too bad.
Preston North End v Sheffield United
Sheffield United v Leicester City
Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday
Burnley v Sheffield United
Sheffield United v Hull City
Sheffield United v Bristol City
Southampton v Sheffield United
Hey this mobile broadband is brilliant. Although down at Skeggy for the weekend (yes it has snowed and it's b cold), its great to be able to get the commentry on via Bladesworld. What a great result for the lads and now only 6 points short of the playoffs. Oh how I wish our chairman had sacked Robbo earlier ( say about end of August) and who knows where we might be now. Onwards and Upwards - keep it going - and who knows.

NERVY-OWL 22-03-2008, 19:07 we're turning into draw specialists. the only good thing is we managed to get 2 goals, shame they dont know how to defend for a full 90 minutes. dont know if we needed to win but it was prob 1 of the games we could, doubt we'll get anything from stoke, way utd are playing thats not looking promising, cant remember who else we got

Sheff Wed v Stoke
Sheff Wed v Coventry
Scunthorpe v Sheff Wed
Sheff Utd v Sheff Wed
Sheff Wed v Plymouth
Blackpool v Sheff Wed
Leicester v Sheff Wed
Sheff Wed v Norwich
Coventry and Scunthorpe are must wins and that one against Leicester could be massive
2912clover 22-03-2008, 19:32 I was working at the wednesday match today and I must say they were very unlucky not to have won that match, they owned the second half and despite the difficult conditions it looked like they should have scored 3 or 4, but, it doesn't mean I'm not happy about the results today, 3 in 3 for billy sharp and we're getting on a serious roll these days and we're starting to shape up nicely, now we have to stay up, surely
c'mon you blades, promotion in 2009
You might want to be nice to United and hope they beat Leicester for you.
I think you will just stay up, I hope you dont but think you might just do enough :D
Nice to United? Never! :P
Nice to United? Never! :P
What if, come the last day of the season, you need to beat Norwich and have Southampton lose, to avoid going down? :hihi:

Good for Sir Neil :D:D
Hope he grabbed a scarf and went to celebrate with the Palace fans
colin ran onto the pitch celebrating, i'm bloody gutted:mad:he blooooody loved every moment of it!! i was gutted, but to be honest i also think we were lucky not to go down 3-0 in side the first 15mins...
I get the feeling that if we do go down by a single point.... the 2 points we lost today by our former blade will, have a lasting mark on a few blades on this forum... you bas****s... ;):P:hihi:
Great win for the Blades even though the conditions were terrible, bad luck to the Owls they deserved a win today.Like Warnock said the Owls will beat the drop.
Robbie Loving 23-03-2008, 14:42 Fantastic finish from Sharp, took his goal really well. He then went on to set up Beattie for what should have been 2-0, and had another shoteflected wide which could easily have gone in. Sadly before his goal though he was constantly offside and not upto much.
But hey if he can score in every game and we keep winning, that is good enough for me.
Great result. Awful place, plenty of beer 3 POINTS

I imagine it's against a team that's struggling somewhere near the foot of the table.

NERVY-OWL 23-03-2008, 21:19 yea, i believe it was a team that was struggling when they last played you and that was an easy 3 points, i will leave you blades to remember the score
canadablade 23-03-2008, 21:33 they always do.
1st time I had seen them m8.
Only went because a bloke at work wanted to go and I have access to a private suite with free food and booze ;)
Put on a bloody good show dont they ?
Rocklegend 24-03-2008, 10:13 yea, i believe it was a team that was struggling when they last played you and that was an easy 3 points, i will leave you blades to remember the score We might actually turn up for this one tho,now that the manager of the year's gone.
crookesey 25-03-2008, 13:09 Well at least the blunts are doing their level best to keep us up. What with beating teams around us and letting us beat them they are turning into our fairy godmother. :hihi:
My son took me to the Blades match at Barnsley and it soon warmed up when Billy Sharp scored. The atmosphere was electric and we stood up for the rest of the match. A couple of fans got themselves arrested when Billy scored as they jumped over the wall in their exuberance. Fantastic! Keep it up Blades.
