Why not donate him/her?!

"Hearing Dogs for Deaf People rely not only on rescue dogs but also dogs donated from breeders or members of the public.

Due to increased demand for trained hearing dogs, we need more friendly, biddable puppies and dogs to be donated to us. If you have, or know someone who has, a puppy or young dog that might be suitable, please contact the dog supply team on 01844 348105 or email dog.assessment@hearingdogs.org.uk"

Saw this in a leaflet I picked up at Crufts and as I've seen quite a few 'good dogs' and puppies going for rehoming on the forum through no fault of their own - thought I'd mention it. Why stick it in a rescue centre when it could be doing fantastic work for someone who not only needs a friend and companion but also a set of working ears?

For more info on the work hearing dogs do (and it's pretty impressive) have a look at: www.hearingdogs.org.uk

Thanks :)

The charity that trains sensing dogs for those with epilepsy also take their dogs from rescues and pounds- they do a fab job and guarantee training and a job for life for the dogs that they take on.

If I could fit in with their training schedule I'd foster for them- they're only in Brightside.

Is that Support Dogs? I know Support Dogs do train epilepsy aware dogs but not sure if that's the charity you mean?

Yes- Support Dogs is who I meant. I got as far as applying to be a foster home for them before I realised that I couldn't be in every day at the right time.
