Having a nostalgic moment and remembering playing the Sentinel on the Commodore 64. It seems that a PC version was released called the Sentinel Returns a few years ago. I can buy it on Amazon for a fiver but has anyone tried running it on a modern PC? Google seems to think it should work but just interetsed if anyone had actually tried it.
Cheers
:)

I've been disappointed a few times at PC versions of classic 8 bit games. Some more modern remakes, such as Jet Set Willy, are visually astounding but I think I'd prefer to find the best original version and play it on an emulator - usually the Spectrum, BBC, C64 or Amiga.

Why play the PC version when you can play the original C64 version on an emulator?
Cos we're not allowed to talk about that kind of thing due to it being a bit of a legal grey area.
Y'all know what the powers that be are like about stuff wot ain't legit.

Actually Rich, you'll find that many emulators and games are legal.
Take the Sinclair Spectrum emulators: The software has been written by enthusiasts and Amstrad has given permission for the Spectrum ROM to be used.
Websites like World of Spectrum and Spectrum groups such as the one I used to run, actually wrote to the old software houses and asked for permission to redistribute the old games free of charge.
