Isn't this the same cheat to make attendances look bigger than they really are, that we've been laughing at the Owls for?

What makes it a cheat when they do it and a good idea when we do it?

Not really- its a way to secure the future support for united. I don't think that the people in the boardroom really give 2 hoots about the actualy NUMBER coming through the turnstiles- its only us fans who care.
all the people upstairs look for as the numbers on the profit and loss account and if you have an extra 2-3000 kids wearing the shirts and buying the hotdogs- thats good for the club as a whole.

Yet another way to make the ground fuller, yet why dont all clubs do it? I think its not a bad thing

Plus these would be kids coming every week with there friends and parents- not just given to schools or football teams as a one off.

the only time my kids have ever got in free, is when they were under5, same as the blades, joined the membership etc, but to set the age at 12... well done the blades i say!!

It's how crack dealers operate. Give it to them for free at first...

Seriously though, good on the Blades for this.

no its not these are for renewal season ticket holders. meaning those that already have them this season. so no extra fans will be able to get them and they must be accompanied by an existing adult season ticket holder who's also going to renew next year.

wendy handed them out to full schools like confetti.

glad to clear this up for you.

It is both of those yes but I suspect the main reason for it is to try and prevent a massive fall in attendance when they don't automatically bounce back into the Prem

glad to clear this up for you.

think you will find if you did some reserch that both "wendy"
and united hand out tickets to schools from respected catchment areas

i have asked this question to somebody at the owls academy and also school teachers from the city

if this does not clear this up for you (which i doubt) then do some reserch i will be happy to stand corrected ;)

my kids did some research for me. they kept bringing wendy tickets home. i would have loved them to bring blades tickets home to save me some cash as i always take them. i've got pals all over this city who take there kids to the lane and never had a school freebie but pig fans i know have. to be fair tho they hav'nt brought any home this season.

"respected catchment areas" do you live near the lane or nearer hillsbourgh trust me i know united have given as many free tickets to schools

i asked about it as i have had this conversation b4 but im not sure about this season or last for that matter but you did not say when "wendy were giving em out like confetti"

dont get me wrong i think its a great idea what the blades are doing and wednesday should follow suit

as rotherham should follow the example of bradford with cheaper season tickets so they play in front of a full ground

p.s b.b cant you buy a family season ticket at the lane to save yasen some cash ?

when i first starting wednesday i recall the blades having a part off the ground called the pen (corner of kop end i think it was) where kids could get in cheaper
because i was always miffed that i could not get into hillsbourgh at a cheaper rate
what im trying to say is its gone on for years its nothing new for clubs to try and get the new generation of fans good on em

yeah remember the kids pen mid 70's. problem was you had to go in alone as adults wer'nt allowed so was nearly always empty. early 70's we had something called silver disc. me and my mates used to go down early about 1ish and stand in a queue on john street and wait for a bloke to come along carrying a silver disc and he was allowed to take 2 kids in for nowt. sometimes you'd still be there at 3 and end up paying your pocket money to get in.

ps think the disc holders were share holders going in the best seats on john street as the other side was a cricket pitch.

rochdale :blades won 2.0 i think:huh: sat on the what was the new south stand

L**ds :think blades lost 4.2 in a cup game haslam was manager and i have vivid memories of a leicester game ended 1.1 sat above away fans chucking stuff at em :hihi:

but having lost a brother in 76 who was a stong owls fan my mind was made up and i have been blue ever since

Nobody said it wasn't a good idea it is that when comparing attendances as some people do this is usually overlooked.
I for one think it is a brilliant idea for any U 12 to get to see their local SHEFFIELD team for free.

The Blades do it for Free and Wendski do the kids for a quid.
This enables Wendski to put a quid in
