Preferably from a shelter...

Must be 18 months -2 1/2 years old, and must be sociable as it is wanted as a companion for my young boisterous cat who lost his brother and then lost his eye 3 days later!

Preferably not black as his brother was black and we're all still missing him like mad. Preferably neutered and microchipped but if not we can have that done.

Willing to pay a donation to any registered shelter. Private owners I am happy to rehome your cat but I will not pay for it (Sorry, too many people out there to make a fast buck, if you are genuine you will understand).

Please pm me in first instance. I am based in Rotherham.

Does your new beastie have to be a boy?

I've got a young (can't tell you exactly how old though) girly cat who's been living rough is currently in my attic rearing her babies. She's very sweet and sociable and is on full speaking terms with my mob, although the dog's still a bit scary for her.

She's being fostered for South Yorkshire Animal Rescue and she needs to be homed well away from this side of Sheffield because of the possibility of her wandering back to where she was living if she's too near.

She won't be ready until probably some time at the end of May/start of June though.

There's also a 6-7 month old friendly female on the Sheffield Hallam Cats Protection website looking for a forever home. Details on the 'for adoption' page. (see link in my signature) As far as I know she'll come spayed, microchipped, wormed, de-flea'd and vaccinated and CP ask for a minimum £50 donation, which is a small amount when you take all that into consideration.

Thanks guys. I was hoping for something sooner rather than later, and it needs to be a similar age to my lad as he can be a bit overbearing when playing, not nasty, just boisterous. He was the biggest in the litter and used to getting his own way!

Amelia may not be for you then- it's going to be at least 6 weeks before she's ready to be jumped on by another cat, possibly longer depending on how the babies wean and all that jazz.

I'm sure she'd be up for it, but if you'd like a little one before that time I understand completely.
