You mean to say you've never heard the classic 'Me And You And A Dog Named Boo' (http://www.lakeratskennel.com/downloads/Lobo%20-%20Me%20And%20You%20and%20A%20Dog%20Named%20Boo.mp 3)? :o Call yourself a music fan? :hihi: Though I always thought the dog's name was Blue :suspect: . You live and learn.

And is that the 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep'? Though this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldfkBwFyXgs&feature=related) is the one I know.

The two you've done in bold Agent Gypo I'm guessing are the ones you like rather than the only ones you know:hihi: (my red ones were the ones i knew but i don't expect anyone else to be that anal!)
Some good soft rock type stuff written that year. Must be an American site there is no mention of the Jam.

I love Cat Stevens' Wild World (http://jeffreymcknight.com/Cat-Stevens-Wild-World.mp3), though this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBwUkPYzjKs) one is my favourite (which was also from 1971). For that, I'll even forgive him working with Ronan Keating.

I had a look at the Chicago one - sounds a bit late 80s Moonlighting to me :suspect: .

The top 30 of 1955 has no rock 'n roll in it.The following year was a different picture. What they were singing in 1942 I have no idea though Betty off Corrie would probably know.

No one was San Francisco (be sure to wear some flowers in your hair) and I have done more or less since I was born. Truly fab.

Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, me and one of my first real boyfriends used to sing this little cutie.

We have the Guiness Book of Hit Singles, which goes all the way back. We find the song which is no 1 when you were born. Some people have some right classics.

1979 and 1981, god takes me back...

All very well, but obviously based on US radio airplay. There are a lot of songs which didn't make an impact in Blighty at all.

I don't know if it still applies, but the US singles chart used to be based on airplay as well as sales whereas in the UK it was based solely on sales.

This is obviously the American records of the year.

Missing from the list was the summer hit of the year in the UK:

Top Hits of 1970 (UK)
1 Elvis Presley The Wonder Of You
2 Christie Yellow River
3 Mungo Jerry In The Summertime
4 Freda Payne Band Of Gold
5 Shirley Bassey Something
6 Lee Marvin Wanderin' Star
7 Norman Greenbaum Spirit In The Sky
8 Simon & Garfunkel Bridge Over Troubled Water
9 England World Cup Squad Back Home
10 Free All Right Now

Mungo Jerry was number 1 when I was born and it's not on the US list at all.

With the exception of the England world cup track, I don't think it's too bad at all.
