Anyone know a place to get the head gasket replacement done on a 325 e30 bmw?
And does anyone know how much this is going to cost?
I belive the genuine gasket itself is around £60 which i can get myself, i want the head pressure tested and skimmed and the gasket fitted.
Cheers :)

Cheers Spoofer,
sheffield engine services look like the people for the job, other places i found have closed down or moved... Its seems that the head is cracked and needs replacing, ah the joys of motoring! :D

I used Quarry Motors (tel 275 5916 or 276 9075) when I used to have a Beamer. Sorry if this is old news. I also used Nick Thompson on Borough Rd (Tel: 231 5377) he used to be head technician @ Sytner so really knows his stuff.

Good Luck, Andrew

I recently had a head skimmed at RES on Roman Ridge Road. They supplied the headset and bolts. They can also supply heads.

I tried quarry, but the price is too high, I can replace half the engine parts for that money including the head. Yes it is the streight-6 2.5L.
I have sourced a reconditioned head now and im planning to do the work myself, then get the old head tested and sold on to recover some money. The only thing is im short of a space to work in, anyone renting garages?

Well i have replaced the head myself on the street in front of the house. All is good except #6 cylinder is not firing. Im pretty sure the inlet valve is slightly bent and does not close fully. I guess its a case of taking it apart again. The joys of diy :D
