As the topic says - rather avoid Maplin's over-priced tat, if possible. I usually do London Rd, but I need a PSU as soon as.

eNet on london road have a nice 'silent' 700w PSU for about £39 - got one for my uncle the other day, they are decent.

Cool. But as I said, I don't have time to go to London Rd, so I'm after city centre places.

Your very limited in town, your better off getting in a taxi to Enet or Crown, grab one of those and get a taxi back, it will still be cheaper than buying some crap from Maplins!

now Gemsoft isnt there, there's no where in town really, other than maplins or CEX, and both are way too expensive.

Yeah, both of those places are atrocious. The kid who served me in CEX even tried to skank my change the other day.

Ah well, I'll give eNet a bell and see what time they shut. Cheers.

There's n2c computers on west street I think, they were still there a few months ago. It scares me how much the owner resembles the springfield comic book shop guy though.

Also could try Universal Computers on St georges close. Tel. 2786222 near University of Sheffield

Only one i can think of is N2C on West St, but i've had mixed reviews. Probably won't be cheap either.

The owner does look like Comic Book Guy though. Sadly he doesn't sounds like him. :)

BTW, Can't believe that a pawnbrokers (CEX) even got a mention in this thread.....
