I have a beautiful little Sony laptop (called Fred) and it is currently very very poorly.

It had some orange flavour (does that count) lucozade spilt on and in it.

It wont work now, clearly.

I have tried wiping up the sticky stuff and hair drying it, but to no avail.

Any ideas

Orange is one of the worst things to spill as it is very corrosive, the best thing you can do is take the battery off, and the CMOS battery if you can get to it, then leave it somewhere to dry and try it again. was it on when it happened and did it stop working? insurance may be your best option!
