I never thought anything would come from my application form but theyve rung me today and want me to go to Newcastle for an audition on the 14th April!!!!

I'm soooo excited!!!!

thats brilliant, but at this stage i think its only an audition as the actual show is filmed in bristol.

My son was filmed a few weeks ago for the 100>1 show that will start on the National Lottery show in April :)

He didn't win but got into the last 7.

just thought i'd update everyone...

well i got through both auditions, there were 110,000 applications so ive done really well! :D

I swapped numbers with a few other applicants to see how we all did and they have had emails to say they arn't though so i'm hoping thats good news for me!!! :D:D:D

I emailed earlier to apply to go on the Weakest Link.. Dunno why, I know for almost a fact I won't get on, I'll end up trekking all the way to bloody Manchester or somewhere for the audition, be that nervous I'll answer all the questions wrong, and end up telling Anne Robinson how fugly she is, to her face.

What sort of audition? How smoothly you can open a box? or shout "Blue!,Blue!,Blue!"?

They have auditions? How do some of the morons get through then, is it a sympathy thing?

yes it's a nightmare to get thorugh, online application form, telephone interview, 60 second interview to camera and then a 5 minute interview with reserchers....then if you get through those it goes to casting and then whittlied down from there....so i've done rather well! :)

my advice is when you first meet Nolly don't say "where are Snow-white and the other six".
Apparently he can turn very violent at remarks like that and start throwing red boxes around while shouting out profanities. He will also refuse to let you on the show.

Oh yes and don't sing "hi hooo, hi hoooo" either.

Last week I went to an Audition, I got through to the 5 minute tape interview. They said tapes will be reviewed.

When do we know if we made the show ? or what happens next ?

Do they call either way if you made it or not.

Hi ive just found this thread, forgot all about it! I also made one when my game was on last Feb 2009.

I got through, heard quiete quickly after my tape interview.

I went to Bristol October 2009 for 3 weeks filming and my game was the Valentines Special 13th Feb 2009 and i won 21k.

I had the time of my life, i also met my current partner on the show, fellow contestant Alfonso. He moved to Sheffield in August and we're very happy.

Some people can wait 2 years + (a few on my DOND friends did) depends what they want you for. ie which part of the show. Looking back me and Alfie were called quiete quickly as we were single and they had us planned for Valentines (we didnt know this at the time)
They only ring you if you are sucsessful.
So you might get called quickly, or they keep your name until you fit or you might not get called atall. It's a terrible waiting game, i couldnt believe id got through, still look back on it all and cant beleive how lucky i was!
We were actually on Sunday just gone's show 14th Feb, we were asked back.

I've not watched it for ages, but often thought that the camaradarie in the hotel etc must be a good laugh!

Three weeks is a long time to get off work though!

hi yes we filmed 3 shows a day and it's 3 months in advance. It wad allowed to take annual leave but some people had to quit their jobs.

I think you know it will be good bur nothing prepares you for what an amazing experience it is, you bond very quicklybwith people and become very close as it's very intense. Best thing I have ever done and I've made friends for life.

One of the funniest/cruelest episodes I ever saw on DOND, was one where a young girl was in the seat.

It was getting a bit crucial, so her boyfriend came down and joined her in the hot seat.

She dealt at something like £15,000...and carried on for the last 2 rounds (playing like she would have!) and was left with the 100k and the 250k as her final boxes.

She was in tears, blaming the boyfriend for telling her to deal, he was telling her it wasn't his fault etc...she was inconsolable!

I reckon if you're going to go on a show like that, you've got to go for it. No way would I have dealt while the 100k and 250k were still in play!

What do you do about the tax on the money? (ie/ do they award you more to allow for tax deductions, so that you do walk away with the X amount you won?)

Or is it non-taxable?

I have seen on the DOND Forums, people who auditioned a week before me are starting to get No Thank you Emails...I am dreading opening my emails, as its nearly a week for me since I got my Silver ticket.
