lol yes well done sheffield, although it may be that london residents choose to post on forums which deal with smaller areas or boroughs to retain relevance?

On a similar note, I've just been looking on an Edinburgh forum this afternoon, and was very disappointed at the low number of postings/posters and the relative poor quality of what was there.

Sheffield Forum is showing the way for the rest of the UK!

There are two sorts of people, those that live in Sheffield and those who wish they did.

Nuff said.

Nimrod, pithy, succinct and oh so true lol

That site looks really well thought out and that they took a lot of trouble over it ... must be very disappointing that they have so little interest ....

....maybe we should all register and start posting ... give em the idea of how to go on ... especially if we did it in sheffieldish .... muhahahaha *evil*

I thought that all places had a forum like this one.
That is really interesting and shows that there is such a good community spirit here.
When someone has a problem, there are always dozens of people rush to help and give some advice.
Maybe Sheffield First should be marketing Sheffield as the Friendliest City.
That would surely attract so many people

I'm always surprised that SF doesn't get more of a mention by the council / Star / local enterprise etc.

I'm sure what HarrietStar says is also true. Although London is much bigger than Sheffield, most people in London don't often get outside their own small area: when we lived in East London, my wife worked at a school in Canning Town. Most of the staff there hadn't been to Central London in about 20 years. And it was only about 4 miles away!

My Aunt lives in Hillsborough and hasn't been into Sheffield city centre for years! I always think that's very odd!

After moving from Sheffield to North London 9 months ago, I can conclusiveley say...........

London is rubbish!

The people of London are misserable, impatient, unfriendly, disrespectful, unfunny with very high opinions of themselves and what they do for a living.

Most areas are a dump, cramped and un maintained.

Driving is impossible unless you do it all between 8.30pm and 5am. Drivers have no choice but to drive without any care for anyone else. Every journey entails a bumper to bumper tail back. The tube isnt an option unless you have an obsession with being trapped in an overpacked tin.

Sheffield, you may not be on the map as much as you would like but you really do have everything London doesn't!

I type local areas that are near me into the SF search engine, and see what crops up - I believe it came from the "Where are you originally from thread".

Weren't you at Sidcu, DA14 and then moved to Blackheath, SE3....

My school was in Bexley Lane (Sidcup), and my college is on Lewisham Way...! :)

Any thought of London and I can hear John Peel (RIP) moaning about the dead rats found in Mr Treebus's 'garden', Parking Attendants who can't communicate with irrate motorists, sad looking folk going about their business and people in shops and pubs treating you like you shouldn't even be there.

My, it's awful. The place is a dump and an embarrassment to be called a capital city.

Last time I had the misfortune of being there the (foreign) waitress/student/whatever in the cafe I was in assumed that my £8.80 change was infact a tip and didn't return it to me until I pointed the fact out (us Sad Northerners, eh?).

Incidentally, I stress foreign merely to illustrate that I don't think anyone can actually communicate there!
