Is the word 'ass' really SO offensive to warrant blanking out in the latest Nickelback single??
I can understand parents not wanting their small children to go around singing it, I guess.
Maybe I'll find out if it gets deleted from here!

I wondered..is this censorship just limited to daytime radio/TV music or do the broadcasters apply it after the 'watershed' too?

Noticed on Scuzz earlier that smoking in music vids is also now being pixelated out.
I fully understand the reasoning behind this too.... but to me it just drew attention to the cigarette, whereas I'd probably never have noticed if they'd not tried to censor it.

The funniest thing though was blurring out the pepper-pot innuendo in Electric Six' 'Gay Bar' video!
Now THAT is political correctness gone mad!! :loopy:

Unfortunately, a growing number of people in this society can't take responsibility for their own actions and if any misfortune happens to them will seek to sue someone (or anyone) else. This self-censorship by the music channels is one of the results. I think most of the music channels are owned by a small number of companies, and they'll be applying a "we absolutely mustn't get sued" approach across the board.
I can understand it if they showed videos that had a clear "go out and murder people" message, but broadcasters now seem to have to go to the lengths of pixellating a pepper pot. Crazy world we live in these days.

It always use to confuse me in the Wheetus song teenage dirtbag,
"Her boyfriends a d**k, he brings a gun to school",
And the word "Gun" was censored out but d**k was not?

Then again now im a bit older im starting to understand - especially with all the gun crime happening in england at the moment.

I'd quite happily censor the rest of the song. Nickelback annoy the hell out of me, every song sounds the same!

But each to their own ;)

I really don't see what the problem is. Nickelback being censored is doing the world a great favour. They're an absolutely awful band.
