Can anyone tell me what the Leadmill is like on a Friday night? I've been to gigs there but never for a club night and am planning to make a party booking for my hen party. Thanks!

Fridays are usually pretty lively down there,although I'd say Saturdays are more fun.There's a third room the Leadmill will use for private parties as well if you have a big enough group.

I've always loved the Leadmill. Yes, it's a bit grimy and sweaty, with its fair share of knobheads on the prowl, but I believe that simply adds to the complete Leadmill experience!

Friday night are good cause there's something for everyone - pop, cheese, dance and R&B, so shoul keep a large group of mates reasonably happy if you're looking for some raucous fun. However if you want a classy evening, then perhaps you should think again!

Thanks, that sounds great. I've made a party booking, can't wait. I really like the Leadmill as a gig venue so reckon I'll enjoy the club nights. I'm more into rock but a good mix of pop, R&B, cheese and dance for a hen night can't be far wrong.

well ive never been to the leadmill... but i av heard alot about it... wanna go but then again i dont... because
a) i dont luk 18.. even though i am :rant:

The other threads make it sound seedy, but it isn't. It's a really good mixture of students and locals and attracts people of all ages. In the best possible way. It's cheesey music, but it's not like a rotherham Ben Sherman n Burberry cheese, it's a classy cheese, if you get what I mean.

Nothing wrong with a bit of cheesy music but the only way I'd dance to cheesy stuff is at a family party (get those dad's up for YMCA - says Peter Kay) or whilst "slightly" tipsy on my hen night...just a little worried about what the girls have planned for me. Don't fancy waking up in a custody suite.

Thursday is the best night at leadmill, or it was last time i went about amonth ago. But im told they have changed the music they play. I hope not though.

I went last night and whent we got in they were playing some r+b trashy crappy stuff in both rooms so i was a bit down.

But then in big room later they started playing much more of a mix, including the killers so i cheered up after a good dance etc



I hate it when people knock leadmill as being a dump, its cheap drink, good mix of people and great music it is what it is. If they dont like it goto kingdom.

All the clubs have their bad points, but the leadmill just has an atmosphere that i havent found in any other clubs in sheffield.

I went there last night, main room played pop - chart hits both current and past. Room 2 played commercial dance, and I cannot remember what was being played in room 3. I was very drunk....

That used to be the best. Used to go to that for about a decade.

They have some good bands on too

I went to see dead 60s there, paid 8.50 on door stayed all night.

I'd say the Leadmill is THE place to go in Sheffield for a great night out. It's a bit basic but what's wrong with that? There's a brilliant atmosphere, the music's great and it's a good crowd with a wide mix of ages.

For indie fans, there's nowhere better :thumbsup:
