(this question does not apply to people who do not like cheese)

Sausage Roll or Pork Pie

I could do it if I was in the mood, but I don't think it'd be an improvement unless you were very hungry.

Lamb Biryani

I see no added advantage of topping it with Cheese.

I put to you 'the ploughmans lunch'. Well, my version of it always has cheese and some sort of pie/sausage roll anyway.

My nomination is shredded wheat and milk :gag:

Riiiiiiight... although I do count some of these as recipes rather than foods

Butterfly chicken - chicken breast with cheese and bacon
Lamb biryani - ok - winner
Salt and pepper squid - going to try with cheese later can't see why it wouldn't be better
Have definately enjoyed a sausage roll or pie with cheese before.

oooh - and shredded wheat is not a food it's a packing material

Milk and cheese - cheese sauce - please pass it to me!

Come people challenge me!

Crispy duck
Pigs trotters
Smoked salmon
Caviar
Roast Beef & yokshire pudding

I like cheese, but it would ruin some dishes.

Aha Mr Nick, but you forget cream cheese - a friend to the likes of beef and salmon.
tripe wuld be better with cheese cos it's horrid anyway
as are pigs trotters

Prawn saag andcrispy duck - i salute you

am sbefuddled as to whether these chinese and indian dishes are more recipes than food for cheese to improve - they've already been a-meddled with!

Sushi, no way could cheese be good with sushi.
Vegetable soup, tomato soup is better with cheese sarnies but not veg.
Special fried rice, there just isn't any improving it and I agree with the duck and prawn dishes too.

Maybe i should have phrased it differently - could change the title because it's more the combinations already in these rebel foods that offend the cheese which would happily join the individual ingredients and offer them all improvement.

Sushi - Winner!
Special fried rice - Winner!

Vegetable soup... had it for my dinner with grated cheese on many an occasion... maybe my soup is just exceedingly good.

Shall we ask the panel...

Vegetable soup??????

yoghurt is neutral, it can be sweet (with fruit) or savory (in that greek dip with cucmber).

Am I right in thinking that most Chinese food that we are familiar with doesn't contain dairy (and therefore would not lend itself to the addition of cheese)? As far as Indian food goes. there is paneer, which is a form of cheese and which can be added to most curries (I think).

Normally I'd agree and say add cheese to everything. But I think garlic bread is better than cheesy garlic bread.

I really like cheese but much prefer to eat it on its own at the end of a meal with the last glass of wine.

If you added some of the strong cheeses (eg mature cheddar, blue cheese, goats cheese) to any savoury dish they'd completely kill the flavour of everything else.
