Hi everyone, right, what it is, is, my cat smudge was never very happy when we adopted our other cat honey, but i thought, in time, he will get used to her, well he hasnt, not only does he not like her near him but he has moved out. He goes across the road to a neighbours house, eats her cats food and sleeps there, now, she does kick him out when she is in, but he goes straight back in, she has said recently that she is going to change her catflap to a magnetic 1. I asked her what he was like with her 2 cats and she said he,s fine with them, they are both girls, but older. Now just now, i tried to catch him as he needs a new collar on, he let me pick him up for a minute then satrted hissing and growling at me, i managed to get him in the house, but he wont let me near him to change the collar, he,s hissing, growling and scratching me. This really upsets me as he used to be so loving and cuddly with me, anybody any ideas as to what could be wrong with him please?

How long has it been since you adopted Honey? How old is she? Is he neutered? Is she?

The difference between being friendly with the cats over the road and a cat in your house is that over the road is not his territory and therefore he's a guest, but in your house you've brought another cat into his territory.
