Modesty 11-03-2005, 11:46 I always thought they were there to check you had paid your fare. If they are also checking on the service then that can only be good. msbehavin 11-03-2005, 11:48 back on the streets? Was the money not good enough as a bus inspctor then??? gemma86 11-03-2005, 11:50 Maybe the regularity of the buses might improve........ cgksheff 11-03-2005, 12:06 I've just been listening to the man from First saying that they will NOT be checking tickets!!! but providing an "improved customer service". All eleven of them! Cake 11-03-2005, 12:08 I was on the 52 last week and two inspectors got on at Broomhill to check tickets. They noticed that the bus was running "early" and made the driver wait 5 mins before setting off. A couple of buses past our bus whilst we were waiting - bizarre! They decided to stay on the bus to Crookes sitting amongst passengers and chatting about the bus service. I think the driver was a little nervous about the whole situation as he was driving very slowly. feargal 11-03-2005, 12:08 If they aren't checking tickets, what ARE they going to do? Just ride about all day? I'm baffled. Wouldn't they be better being on the buses, rather than on the streets? I've never noticed that the streets run late then three come at once! eguin 11-03-2005, 19:07 Watch out for 'Blakey' (on the Buses)....."get that bus out Butler" robbie 11-03-2005, 23:12 11.......11.....inspectors for the ENTIRE of Sheffield Gimick Don_Kiddick 11-03-2005, 23:36 Maybe they're going to deter would-be paint ball extremists... http://www.rotherhamadvertiser.co.uk/html/news/fp.asp?ID=4557 unners 12-03-2005, 22:04 Originally posted by robbie 11.......11.....inspectors for the ENTIRE of Sheffield Gimick and Doncaster/Rotherham! d71146 13-03-2005, 07:46 Originally posted by unners and Doncaster/Rotherham! Captain_Scarlet 13-03-2005, 13:02 First time in 23 years I saw a ticket inspection on my bus ! Tuesday lunch time at the Heeley Bridge stop on the 53 going towards town. saying that, inspecting tickets does not improve reliability, frequency of service. It only serves First's goal of earning more. |
