Hi,

I am wanting a small/young dog top be quite honest any type would be fine.

Had to have my dog put down yesterday after having him since I was 2 (15 Years) he had two stokes - quite upsetting.

Looking for a dog to bring up from being young (around 1 year old or less)

Needs to be good with small children as I have a baby sister at 2!

Does anyone have one?

Thanks Hayley x

I dont think many reputable rescues rehome with families of children so young, certinly not puppies anyway, but if you do a search there have been many dogs from private homes needing a new home, alternatively try this website:

www.dogpages.org.uk

There is a private homing section on the forums, all the dogs in that section are free to good home as it is a rescue site.

First of all may I say how sorry I am to hear about your dog, it really is awful having to say goodbye to a much loved family member.
If you look here (http://www.rainrescue.co.uk/products.htm) under Sheffield dogs you will see loads of lovely dogs needing a new home all different types and ages, they often have puppies too.
Good luck in finding a new friend, don't forget to come back and tell us all about it once you find him/her :)

Often small dogs aren't the best to have around young children either - they are usually terriers - which can often be snappy if tugged or leaned on.

Medium to large nice natured are much more easy going.

http://www.rainrescue.co.uk/newark-dogs.htm - I know willis has been walked by a family with loads of children - in fact he is a lovely tempered dog. but you would need to talk to them there and see what they say.
Sorry to hear of your loss - but something will turn up thats right for you and puppies aren't usually the answer with one so young.
