I don't know, a bit of make up can sometimes bring out that 'lift' in a person. Must admit when I have been in Sheffield some of the lasses make up I have seen.............looks like it has put it on with a paintball gun.

You know she does anyway but the actual, physical proof that she does is the bridge too far - The Chinese writing on the back of the pan or the pencil line of chod in a pair of discarded knickers is the episode which makes my brain go "WHOOP, WHOOP TURD ALERT!!! and then I have issues ... ;)

I would say it's age. I honestly believe that it doesn't matter how intelligent, beautiful, funny or whatever attribute a man values, once he finds out a woman's age he can become disinterested.

Feeling a bit single at the moment so had a mooch on match.com today- I thought i'd have a quick gander at the men. I put in quite a largeish age range but i suddenly realised i wasn't looking at the men at all but the age ranges THEY'D quoted.
95% of them had quoted below 35. Even the ones who are 40 and 45! It was like looking at myself as a pint of milk that's gone slightly off at the age of 37.

A good friend of mine who started out as a date (but he suffered from one of the attributes mentioned in my what puts you off post) has told me now when he looks on dating sites he puts in 25 to 35 and wouldn't consider someone above that age as he wants to have children but doesn't want to feel he needs to have them straight away. His ex had lied about her age as well (38) as she'd been rejected by many a man who had found out this.
A good friend of mine suffers from this. She is slim and attractive as well as intelligent and has no shortage of men chatting her up but as soon as they find out she's 38 they see her as too old!

So i think an overall answer would be age.

Can't see that being true, or certainly not with all men. Realistically if I had the choice I'd look for someone within 5 years of my own age (or 10 if I was forty odd, things seem to make a lot less difference round that age I'd guess)

So not only do we have to be concerned about compatible personality, interests, physical attraction etc etc, we have to be concerned about out potential for baby production. How horribly practical.
