Anyone remember this on Channel 4? I used to love it, it was on in the late 80's/ early 90's. It was a bit like an Indian version of British Bulldog. Me and my mates used to have a right laugh playing it on our way home from school!
Yeah!!
I remember that show.. was it on sunday/saturday mornings?
It was quite good to watch that.

I went on an exchange trip to India in 1989, we were shown around quite a few sports clubs/play areas and saw loads of people playing Kabaddi, second only to cricket. I was amazed after coming back to see that Channel 4 had started televising it.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun, when our Indian visitors came over here for the return trip we played quite a few games ourselves.

A friend of mine went over to North Carolina on his gap year at Uni, and was stuck for a sporting society to join.
So, along with a couple of other English students, he looked up the basic rules of Kabbadi and started his own society. He managed to convince the natives that it was actually a medieval English game, where participants would stop for every five minutes to have a cup of tea and a few biscuits (complete with nice crockery, obviously) - this ruse only came to an end when a puzzled Indian explained the game's real origins.
My mate reckons it got to be quite a popular sport over there, and I think the society's still going.
We should start our very own Kabaddi club! I'll start practicing by repeatedly saying "kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi" over and over again!
kabaddi!!! slapping there legs and constantly sayin it hahaha yeah was great fun...how silly did that game seem??
still looked fun!
We we're talking about this at work the other day :|
Apparently the English Kabaddi team are the champions :suspect:
