Many of the local pubs and clubs have staff who are members of this forum, and also the local police keep an eye on it too. So if anyone said, yes go to the Purple bar, take your fake I.D. and wear white trainers, not only will you not get served, because the staff will be warned, you might even get a ride home with the local fuzz who wil have a word with your Parents.

Yes I did go drinking before I was 18, but I just went to the local pubs and didn't wear trendy gear, and acted naturally. I also went to rebels when I was under age. And my mate who was the same age vomited his snakebite all over my jeans

Wouldn't bother trying to get in Cavendish I get ID'd every time and I'm several years over-age. (although I do look younger than I am apparently but I don't get ID'd anywhere else. Oh, except Thorntons).

If you just relax when you go out, don't act a complete ****** or hang around with those who are acting like that, dress smart casual(not like a chav!), you should be able to get in anywhere that doesn't have an over 21s policy. Actually it isn't illegal for you to enter licensed premises, just to try to buy or ask someone else to buy you alcohol. But we all did it so I cant really say owt more!

Yes i went drinking before i was 18 but it would be pointless telling you where, because it was such a long time ago all the places have shut!! I feel sorry for young lads actually because they often look younger than girls can make themselves look (hence why i always dated older boys at school!). we always went local and not town too often, bet you could tell a mile off i wasn't 18 i just didn't realise it at the time lol, ugh.

i remember drinking in The Woodthorpe when I was about 16!

I think it's true that if you behave and don't draw attention to yourself you might be lucky. And that's what it can come down to: luck.

C'mon guys, we all did it! I was boozing in Broomhill at 16 but used to keep quiet and before I was 18 I was only refused once and that was in the Hornblower. Typically, once I'd turned 18 I had to start proving I was 18; that must have happened four or five times!!

I also used to go in pubs with my older brothers and some of their friends who were easily old enough to drink. (This was when on away day football matches, so the four of us would turn up in a car at some remote country pub around lunchtime.)
I used to have a half of lager and I think that whilst it was blatantly obvious I wasn't old enough, it was also apparent that I was with adults and that I was, in effect, drinking sensibly. Thus, never a problem!

But town is a different matter and the thing is not to get mouthy if/when you are refused. Best bet, as posted elsewhere, is to stay in the suburbs. You'll not only save yourself disappointment, you'll save some lolly too!

not getting mouthy is definately the best bet... i was refused entry to places in younger days... cimply went to the back of the queue and took off my coat, or started talking a girl in the queue so it looked like i was with them and i'd be in past the same bouncer in 10 minutes.

Jesus, what is it with this text language? Back when texts could hold, maybe, 3 words...then the abbreviations made sense...but now! Besides that...hey...this isn't a mobile phone, it is a forum...you can string whole sentences together now!
