They're based in S40 (Chesterfield) and sell all manner of pets from Spiders, scorpions and other inverts to lizards, snakes and geckos. They frequently have pre-orders which offer a lower price (although of course you have to wait for the pets to come into stock) They also operate loyalty point schemes. There is the "pet points" for your purchases (which can be redeemed for money off future purchases), "referral points" for referring friends and other people (which can be converted to pet points or withdrawn as cash) and a loyalty discount (where the more you spend over a 12 month period, the bigger the discount you get). You can even use your loyalty discount and pet points on the same purchase! If you sign up using my referral code (EXP13207LS, or click the url above) you'll get 250 pet points (50p) instantly. DaFoot 17-03-2008, 06:23 PM The Snake Shop - in Attercliffe always has a selection of young spiders in stock. PLEASE if you possibly can make sure the one you decide to buy is captive bred. An awful lot are imported as wild caught specimens, if an ad doesn't specifically say captive bred then it probably isn't (in the case of adults anyway). carpetviper 17-03-2008, 06:33 PM Theres also attercliffe exotics. Ask for tony he has some nice pink Knees and he also had a goliath in recently. carpetviper 17-03-2008, 06:35 PM Have you tried exotic-pets.co.uk (http://www.exotic-pets.co.uk/referrer.php?ref=13207)? They have also send boxes out containing dead animals ami_j 17-03-2008, 06:44 PM i thought most insects were wild caught such as chile roses. you can however get slings (spiderlings) http://www.thespidershop.co.uk/insect/index.php DaFoot 17-03-2008, 07:25 PM i thought most insects were wild caught such as chile roses. you can however get slings (spiderlings) http://www.thespidershop.co.uk/insect/index.php An awful lot of invertebrates are wild caught. Unfortunately the wild caught animals tend to be cheaper than captive bred. :( However getting a young captive bred animal means you get to see it grow up to an adult which can be very rewarding. So if someone is shopping on price as a main concern they will probably end up with a wild animal. richard1073 17-03-2008, 08:24 PM hi thankyou everybody i have already decided on captive breed and on young just orederd several spiders from the spidershop link its a good site will have to see what arrives thankyou again SWUK 17-03-2008, 08:39 PM Theres also attercliffe exotics. I've also used Lee at www.thespidershop.co.uk, and whilst the animals were healthy, I got them on one day, but the equipment for them arrived almost 2 weeks later, resulting in two very upset spiders. I wouldn't use Lee again DaFoot 06-04-2008, 06:14 PM I've never had a problem with them.... Clearly... or I assume you wouldn't have a refferer link in your sig ;) keepgreen2k 06-04-2008, 10:47 PM Id recommend a chile rose for a starter tarantula or a mexican redknee(although these can be very pricey) Dont think about buying an indian ornamental until you have experience as these are venomous. Also goliath birdeaters are not for beginners as thes are VERY Agressive and kick hairs off the abdomen which isnt very pleasant:thumbsup: carpetviper 07-04-2008, 11:20 AM Id recommend a chile rose for a starter tarantula or a mexican redknee(although these can be very pricey) Dont think about buying an indian ornamental until you have experience as these are venomous. Also goliath birdeaters are not for beginners as thes are VERY Agressive and kick hairs off the abdomen which isnt very pleasant:thumbsup: I dont keep spiders as the other half would freak out and stamp on em i did have a scorpion in the spare room till she found it and went nuts funny thing is he was totally handleable and loved to come out.
